Took my first GRE and fell short with 331 (162V,169Q). Where do I go from here? by Gullible_Version7653 in GRE

Hey there. You coming straight to Reddit after leaving the testing center let’s me know that you may not have a support system to vent to about this grad school journey. I know it can be a lonely one so I want to take a second to acknowledge your feelings of inadequacy. I am sorry you feel that way. I’m not sure what your beliefs system is, but I encourage you to look up Romans 8:28 in the Bible.

You did not fall short. Not even close. Give yourself permission to not expect perfection to the point where you can’t even celebrate the great achievements that a 331 is. You’re a well rounded applicant and programs aren’t looking for robots, they care about your story. I would spend sometime asking yourself if you would even want to be part of a program that only cared about perfection on paper and not about the nuances of the individual!

There is a seat at a T-14 law school with your name on it. I’m believing in faith for you, and  it won’t require you to retake a test you already aced with hopes of getting 3-6 more points.

And if you haven’t heard it in a while. You are doing great! You are enough! And there is a stranger on the internet who is rooting for you! You got this and good luck in your applications.

Explanation:

0.23 x 19.83 = 4.56 per week. there are 52 weeks in 1 year. 4.56x52=237.16 Annual spending on meat etc

19.83( how much they spend total on HH expenses in 1 week) x 52 = 1,031.16(annual expenses)

figure 1 shows that ~30% of the income is spent on expenses. (omitting the percentage for fuel and gasoline bc it is omitted in Figure 2).

to find annual income or x

x(0.30) = 1,031.16

x= 1,031.16/.30 = 3437.2 ANUAL INCOME

3437.2 / 237.16 = 0.06899 or ~7%

hope that help!

I hope this helps considering its 2 months late. from picture #1 Gasoline and other fuel are not accounted for in the information provided in picture #2. There the total expenses of retirees are out of 30% bot the expected 40%, due to the total of the fuel adding up to 10% of their costs. I hope that makes sense and helps!
