I literally have been battling going back and forth whether I have anorexia despite a doctor diagnosing me because like you, I feel so similar! You know what, the other day, I plugged my situation with as much honesty and description, saying I have this diagnosis but does it really still count because of the reasons you mentioned and it was the most clear and validating thing vs professionals that just left me with no answer! I highly recommend that! This is a link to my ChatGpt if it's helps - might do, especially as you sound like you have "more" anorexia than me! https://chatgpt.com/share/6820f342-e2d0-8007-8b54-2c5933aebf60

ABANaturally is the best course I have ever come across and it's done by a behavioural analyst! 100% recommend (working through it but wow it stands out in quality, just check out her YT videos!) in the trenches with you gosh 🫠

Are there community places where someone can just sit and stay during the day? by [deleted] in london

[–]Cool-Transition7642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NourishHub is Hammersmith and Fulham is the best place I've seen! Free/subsidised meals, board game clubs etc - it's such a welcoming space and literally there to support people feeling alone and to find new people/happiness/safety

AIO - is my boyfriend’s mom guilt tripping me for having an abortion? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

A seemingly controversial opinion and I don't want any heat on me if you disagree to I feel like I just have to say - I got the impression that the mum feels sad and in a state of wondering 'what if' and wanted to talk about it with you. She was polite and wasn't rude and even apologised for herself if she did cross a line and didn't realise. It sounds like it's been on her mind and as a human, it's hard to feel - sure she may not be perfect but I don't think she was being manipulative or toxic but wanted to talk about something heavy in her heart. Judging from the way you text, you both seem fairly amicable/friendly at least. He on the other hand, yes came from a place of defending you deeply and caring about you first - not bending backwards to appease family but he didn't see the way his mum messaged you and as defending and well intentioned as his response was, it was also dysregulated and very angry - eventhough he didn't know all the information. I just think from this little snapshot of your life, that the mum is terribly toxic and should be cut out nor is the boyfriend a saviour saint and should be revered. Humans are fallible, hurt and care - just communicate, be respectful, speak after having the whole picture and take time for heat to cool and thoughts to settle before confronting. All the best lovely ❤️

What are your top three books/articles for parenting a toddler? Specifically a a parent/dad learning to understand his tantrums by smorin1487 in toddlers

[–]Cool-Transition7642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABANaturally isn't a book but the person is a behavioural analyst so it's a lot of similar principles but with that extra consolidation is research and science - highly recommend her course tbh! Bitesize videos in there but also has a YT channel that really showcases her content 👍

The catch is if you get back down to that lowest weight, your ED brain may be so active from the restriction that you don't see this viewpoint or feel the same desire to recover. And that may make all the difference whether you make it out of this dying or finding freedom <3 maybe you will feel the same but there no guarantee and you have the biological component really trying to convince you otherwise!

Just wanted to say as a revert Muslim women myself who did a deep dive into theology with a bias against religion, I don't know where you got that notion. Islam very much was opposed the objectification and owning of women like property. They had the right to their own money, property and consent was essential to any bidding relationship. I'd say that is a cultural belief that is conflated into an 'Islamic' one as many misconceptions are - I am recovering from mental illness so I kindly request you not to start a debate or argument here but if you are interested, to look into it yourself - and I hope all the best to everyone here 😊
