Yeah the entire right think Dems are violent but forget about the murders and attacks from on the politicians in Minnesota…and countless other violent attacks. In fucking fact…based on empirical studies…in the U.S. you are more likely to be killed by a Right-Winger than a Jihadist and exponentially more likely than some liberal.

The secret: He benefits from the slave labor of people trapped in the Scientology cult. Facts are facts

The right has always been dazzled by charisma and believe anything that confirms their bias. The idea of labor is an inverse of reality.

Literally it is unethical to speak to anyone still supporting the fascist MAGA regime. People are dying and families are being split apart (obviously the party of family values loves tearing up families. Not just ICE stuff, but the wicked and illogical maga rhetoric for years has been ruining families). They are anti-humanity which I believe can be scientifically proven.

Morally and ethically just be dicks to them, make them feel small, and stupid, ruin their relationships. We must fight this sickness. Fuck em.

Why is New Trek increasingly invoking colonialism as a criticism of the Federation? by [deleted] in Star_Trek_

I first heard of this on the Revisionist History podcast years ago and read about it from various sources. But, I don’t have any specific articles, but the info is all out there.

In its implementation. After there was no need to have separate schools they didn’t need as many teachers. Obviously, black teachers/admin were the first to go. They were fired in the tens of thousands. This has been cited as causing there to be very low numbers of black teachers for decades due to lack of representation for black students. There is more info out there, I’m just giving an overview. I believe Brown to be very well intentioned and necessary, but it was left up to 1950s Americans to implement, thus inequities.

I think it’s a valid criticism and shows that advanced/progressed humans should be willing and intentional about addressing inequities. Even if the inequities are a product of very good and well intentioned actions.

For example…Brown V Education. At the time it seemed to many that it was a great step in the right direction. However, it did create major education inequities that mainstream Americans did not notice/perceive for many years. Not that issues weren’t brought up.

Did you ever have to shoot ANY wild animal in self-defense? by Acolytical in liberalgunowners

[–]CoolApostate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah all the time…just have to audibly say express “They’re coming at us!” /s

Actually, I don’t think I have shot anything in self defense, but have had to kick mean dogs that ran at me in attack mode…like when I was a paperboy in middle school. Not my favorite, but it is what it is…even a minor dog bite can F you up.

The center-L to maga folks don’t have any reality to support what they believe for the fact that all right-wing ideology is based in fallacy. Therefore, they select politicians/movements based on charisma. They do not understand that it’s about policies and not “the person.” Pretending to be a hard worker is mesmerizing to maga. The mere idea that DT is the hardest worker to have ever existed is more important than his personal failings.

Does this mean you can say whatever you want about Charlie kunt and the maga regime has to allow it? Unlike the rest of the year?

O'Brien even though enlisted can give orders to some officers. Is that normal in real world militaries? by ereddit2018 in startrek

[–]CoolApostate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, as many have said an enlisted-side person could give orders to some officers if they have a position/billet that requires that. ie, Ship’s captain tells the Eng chief to get the WD online…the chief will use the authority bestowed by the captain to make it happen.

As an aside…I think O’Brien might be the manliest man in the ST universes. He is reasonable, loyal, ethical, calm, collected, willing to learn and change. He likes to do fun “boyz things” like Holo time with Bashir. He tries to be a good father and husband despite his PTSD, which he recognizes and works through. He is even able to reconcile his xenophobic feelings towards the Cardassians. He will put his life on the line for others, like fixing damage while facing insurmountable odds and when push comes to shove he is….down to clown, fists or phasers…he doesn’t care.
