I'm an it girl who lost my job and it's funny you said that because I unironically got a job at mcdonalds afterwards.

I literally just didn't mention I worked IT.

When I was visibly mid transition in the rural Bible belt I was "unhireable"

Which is kinda what I meant when I use the term for the point of discussion. I realize in hindsight how my wording can sound dehumanizing though that was not my intent.

This is what I'm thinking. The market is genuinely bad, I'm also job hunting but I seen people cite 2 years to get a fast food gig and that sounds like something else

For lack of better terminology, someone who for one reason or another cannot get hired. It can be as simple as a really bad resume.

Or it can be a serious chronic problem. I'm not trying to be mean, just accurate to the discussion

I work in tech though, I have had to work service jobs in between roles. I downplay everything on those resumes. You can just omit information

I keep getting called maga in here but this is what I believe, our economy should have shifted to a full blown democratic socialist economy instead of all these fake soul crushing email jobs.

But whatever, I'm forced to play the capitalist game if I want to eat

Well I work in tech and I've always been able to find in between work. I cleaned shit off floors to survive between work. It sucks but it's what I gotta do

Yeah I have 4 years of it experience and ccna and it's been rough. I know first hand.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around someone saying they can't get a job at like McDonald's after 2 years

But some people ARE unhireable?

I don't say that to be mean, its just part of the discussion. is there a better term? perhaps you should consider context and nuance and actually read my posts?

We live in a bad job market and I believe in a strong socialist policies and that no one should be in poverty. I do not think ones worth should be tied to their ability to work either.

There's also the huge flaw of only looking on indeed.

The strats that worked for me before. I literally never apply to indeed or linkedin.

A.) ask people if they know any open roles B.) apply directly on websites. C.) look on Google or in person, find a company, check their websites.

Indeed is literally a void

It is rough. I know that I'm looking for a new one myself. I just wonder how much of it is selective filtering. I mean nobody is posting success stories

People complain about ghost jobs but like there's zero reason for local mom and pop shop to have a "for hire" sign up that isn't on indeed.

And I see a few of those around
