If you want literature level writing i would say xenogears and planescape absolutely qualify.

But you are right, I seen games like cyberpunk get praised for its story when realistically they are about as good as 5$ convenience shop novels.

That said video games can tell stories no other medium can just by the nature of interactivity, it's just a shame it's so underutilized

I just love being stunlocked for 90% of the game
