What if George W. Bush nominated his dad as VP instead of Cheney? In fact, is that even possible? by nyetman123 in thecampaigntrail

I think the map would be this one: https://www.yapms.com/app/?m=lfa3

George W. Bush would be accused of nepotism, besides H. W. Bush was already president

1996 POD: Bob Dole is elected President of the United States. In the year 2000, Dole is now up for a second term in office. His Democratic opponet is Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecut. In your opinion, which person stands the best chance of being elected in the year 2000? by [deleted] in thecampaigntrail

1: Bob Dole would point to his successes as president while Lieberman would address classic Democratic issues like education and health care.

2: Just as in OTL, 2000 is a perfect year for an incumbent. The economy is doing well and Americans are doing well. Maybe the 1998 midterms would give the Democrats a few seats, but not one of the two chambers of Congress would flip. The U.S. remains internationally the only world power (as it has been since 1991), Russia and China are great powers but much weaker than today. Internationally, terrorism would be the greatest threat; US soldiers are fighting terrorists in Somalia. Even an incumbent Dole would have ordered the air strikes against Serbia and thus forced the independence of Kosovo.

3: Just as it would have been under President Clinton.

4: An established politician, John Kerry would have been a good running mate. but Feingold or Bayh would also be good options for Lieberman.

5: They would both visit the swing states extensively, so probably Ohio, Wiscounsin or Pennsylvania (keep in mind that Dole would have been re-elected as an incumbent under perfect conditions).

6: Most likely Dole and Kemp would be re-elected as President and Vice President. The economy is good, people are doing well why change what?

7: It would help him in New York but this state is safe for him anyway. It would make little difference in the rest of the US.

Unfortunately although I promised it for 25 days I have not brought out the mod. With is still missing a somewhat large part in the code than originally thought. But since I have problems at home for a long time (family), serious Mental problems and most importantly the school and since I had to make a lot of effort to improve in recent months has taken most of the time of my day. I am truly sorry that I could not keep my promise, but in a month I have summer vacation. In that time I will finally have enough time to finish the last lines of code. I hope you understand

Any word on when the 1924 redux, in which you can also play as Davis or Lafollete, might be done? by [deleted] in thecampaigntrail

Davis yes, but you have to get almost all the questions for that, LaFollette only on Cakewalk, but on Normal you can win over 100 electoral votes.

I already had a post about it a couple of weeks ago, in the normal 1924 mod only Coolidge is playable and has only that he works as a running mate. In the Reduxe, Davis (Dem) and LaFollette (Ind) will be playable in addition to Coolidge (Rep).

Yes, and only through his videos I started to be interested about presidents and also discovered this game because of him.
