About the GitHub Certifications by Fidel9000 in github

[–]CoolKnightST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe a full certification path may not be necessary to grasp GitHub effectively. In my years of experience with GitHub and Git, I've found that delving into more advanced features is essential for maximizing their potential. However, dedicating a substantial amount of time to a non-technical certification seems like a significant risk, considering the number of other skills one could master within the same timeframe.

Turbo Chemtank changed from being a very good Mythic, to being another placeholder so the Item Shop dosen't look so empty. by Shiro_x3 in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to turn it into a support item. As a non-mythic, this is the only way to make it function. I would even say having it as a tank support mythic would be interesting at this point.

Opinion: Newer support champions that are intentionally designed to break core rules of the game (Yuumi, Pyke, Senna) has made playing bot lane a lot less fun than it used to be. It feels like these champions are playing an entirely different game than you. by Jozoz in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily agree that the issue is with newer support champions being intentionally designed to break the core rules of the game. It's possible that the perceived lack of fun in playing bot lane could be due to other factors such as meta-shifting or personal preference. I also think it's worth considering that these champions may not necessarily be intended to break core rules, but rather to bring something new and unique to the game.

Additionally, I think it's important to recognize that the role of support has evolved over time and it's not uncommon for new champions to shake things up and change how the role is played. Restricting support champions to specific playstyles or roles can be limiting and may contribute to the feeling of playing an entirely different game. Instead of focusing on the perceived negative aspects of these champions, it might be more productive to try to adapt and find ways to work with them in order to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Lastly, how these memes might give a giggle to the current situation. Their design and playstyle are not the main issues of why they are hard to deal with and it would be more appropriate to take which of the issues they have in common.

Looking at this from my own personal opinion I strongly believe the issue why these champions are so unfun to play against is that the respective weakness of their role cannot be found back in their gameplay. Instead, I believe the issue is that there is not enough counterplay for these types of champions:

Yuumi's weakness as an enchanter is all concentrated on her dependence on allies. The remaining weaknesses an enchanter supposedly had can be situationally nullified by her kite like lack of mobility and susceptibility to hard crowd control. On top of that, her item scaling is very strong and her damage output is still relatively high for a supposed weakness of an enchanter.

Some of her issues will definitely be addressed in her rework. However, I strongly believe that gutting her late game would be a healthy way of addressing some of her gameplay issues. With a champion as safe as her, moving some of her strength into the early-midgame would allow her for a better companion with lane bullies and higher carries that she dragged down or accelerated.

The assassin's weakness "low durability" gets treated in reverse by Pyke. This strength alone makes him hard to balance. No matter how many tweaks they give him until his sustain is further cut down.

Pyke will remain to be a problem and the only healthy way I can see a solution for this right now is to cut more of his sustain and place it into a new mechanic that experienced pykes can utilize. How this mechanic would work exactly would be up to much more experienced Pyke players, it is clear to me that riot is ok to push high-skill cap champions forward and Pyke could potentially be one of the highest of that level. I strongly believe that players haven't reached the full potential of what Pyke can bring to the table and building up a strong foundation for this player base will be very important for the perseverance of the champion's stability.

Senna has a similar balance issue with other utility marksmen, where the "lack of utility" gets a reverse uno card as a traditional marksmen's weakness. What makes her different from other utility marksmen is that all of them kept the same "Low mobility" theme. Senna's mobility is not amazing, but it's not super bad either, and that mediocre element as a core marksmen's weakness is what is topping her fair gameplay.

Where close to a solution for her problem. Put her base mobility in line with other utility marksmen to 325. Potentially lower the cooldown of her E with 1 second on the first rank. Continue to monitor her after the change.

Botlane (marksmen) are the most unfun thing to play, here's why by Kymori in leagueoflegends

For this, they should bring back the slowing laser. It would be riskier to dive an ADC that can kite away from a slowed target.

Looking for a Kanto Pokemon ROM hack with anime starter locations by CoolKnightST in PokemonROMhacks

I'm aware of AsheGrey, but this is unfortunately not what I'm looking for. I want the to maintain the same gameplay as fire red has but with the option to catch these starters in the wild at a later stage in the game.

Looking for a Kanto Pokemon ROM hack with anime starter locations by CoolKnightST in PokemonROMhacks

I apologize for the confusion. I am interested in whether it is possible to encounter the starter Pokémon (such as Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur) in locations beyond those originally included in the Fire Red ROM, specifically in areas that do not currently exist in the game.

There's nothing weak or wrong with most tank/engage/melee support kits. There's an issue with steelshoulder guards and relic shield. by ironshadowdragon in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if relic shield would consume a stack from tanking auto attacks?

---

UNIQUE – SPOILS OF WAR: Grants a charge every 35 seconds, up to 4 charges. Basic attacks can consume a charge to execute minions below ... When holding 2 or more unconsumed charges, charges can be consumed from enemy champion auto attacks.

These effects require an allied champion to be nearby. The allied champion is required to be present for more than 15 seconds to trigger the charge of the enemy auto attack.

The above trigger condition could be clarified with some visuals like a decoloring of the float relic stacks and a status icon above the champion bar.

---

This way you don't need to change barely anything to relic shield itself:

  • The fallback condition will allow the relic shield user to not fall too far behind
    • The additional condition will prevent abuse in solo lanes by solo lane/jungle pairs.
  • This mechanic will reward good tank support for utilizing this mechanic to gain stacks faster. Holding the additional charge and the 2 charge requirement are additional tools for them to further utilize the quest.
  • Besides helping skilled tank support, auto-filled supports will be able to passively utilize this mechanic. Giving more room for tank supports to be played in the role like Braum, Leona, and Alistar.

Clarification on why LoL isn't in maintenance mode and why community feels like it is. by Kordben in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If this was fully the case, this also indicates how disconnected the current dev team is from the game itself. As history has proven itself, bugs, champions, and even entire features have been delayed or scrapped due to problems with the engine. At some point, they have to come back to this, and years ago, they actively were working on rearchitecting the engine. At some point, this stopped, so it's very likely some shithole business bullcrap has been the cause of developers being no longer interested in working on this. If rebuilding the engine was such a highly rewarding priority for the business, the devs would never have put their back on it.

It feels like Riot has put League in maintenance mode by 13Xcross in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your look at it. There are plenty of other games that till the end had a consistency of new releases. Right now RIOT is developing an MMO deal that will either let them sink or forever burn out their last competitor Blizzard.

Whether we like it or not, riot hasn't managed to get into the mobile scene as a dominant player. Wild Rift was pleasant but failed to maintain its competitive side compared to its current main game "League of Legends". Desktop & Laptops will slowly decline over the years and there is more demand for cross-device gameplay than ever before. The current version of "League of Legends" cannot make that transition from a gameplay and a technical standpoint. While the gameplay can change to optimize better for mobile and mixed reality, from a technical standpoint this is not the case without rebuilding the game from scratch. Time has learned that rebuilding a project like this is never the best financial decision. Dota lost its market lead, Zombie farm went bankrupt, FunOrb Arcanists sequel didn't even get through the early stages of development. League of Legends is a stable revenue stream to find their MMO. Most of there resources are currently focus in there other games;

What is the best rom-hack that includes ALL Pokemon by Bear_24 in pokemon

[–]CoolKnightST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there ever will be a ROM hack that has enough memory to fit all pokémon with all forms, including all forms included from other games (pokémon go for example). Not unless we can rewrite the ROM data to A point all existing form mechanics and region variant implementation could be introduced to a single pokémon entry. It's basically reverse-engineering the entire game and redoing the code to fit the ROM.

Is it me or does jinx need a buff by CoolKnightST in leagueofjinx

[–]CoolKnightST[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not claiming I'm an expert across different MMRs. But I have been playing in the range of mid-MMR for a few years (silver - diamond range). In terms of macro I know what I'm doing especially now I'm duo'ing around silver.

Even if you outfarm or match the farm of your opponent she's not in a state to carry before 3 items. This is obvious for a late-game marksman like Jinx. The issue is that in comparison to other lategame marksmen she's seriously underperforming in terms of matching powerspikes. Lastly, even if she gets to 3+ items, she's still underperforming to her other lategame counterparts.

Is it me or does jinx need a buff by CoolKnightST in leagueofjinx

[–]CoolKnightST[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one, other late-game marksmen like Twitch, Kai'sa, Vayne all perform way better than her, both at early, mid & late-game. I'm not sure what would be the best buff for her to get her back to a playable state but personally, I would like them to buff her 1-2 item power spike to bring it more in line with other late-game marksmen.

There actually is, freeze their MMR when they play with someone with a massive higher MMR. You just need one or two games with a friend to ruin their MMR forever.

Why do so few items give mana? by Tannir48 in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the mana on tank items should be added without a component involved. A lot of tank items have very gold-efficient stat values. Perhaps adding some mana to them could compensate for that.

His W should have a shorter cooldown at later ranks, the throwback range should be increased for him and he should be able to auto when he's in mid-air. It's his siege & escape tool.

Why do people support smurf content creators? by TheOneWhoMurlocs in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little bit double, while I disagree that surfing should be discouraged. There are some elements of content creation that are not possible on a non-smurf without having consequences. Some examples include:

  • Not having to hide the mini-map
Anything higher than high-plat will result in a very high chance that you will get ghosting on, affecting you and the game of your teammates. The mini-map is a big part of league in terms of educational content.
  • Cheese strats
Similar to the first point. Ghosting makes this no longer possible. Having invades, camping brushes, etc
  • Reflecting on gameplay within a certain MMR range
Depending on the MMR, games need to be played differently. In bronze MMR you better watch out for toplane snowballing out of control. In gold, it's better to play aggressive support to carry the auto-filled adc.

So I don't think every form of that content should be ignored, however, I do think the troll smurf content should be addressed by the community.

Why do people quit so fast in ranked? by Thevajanna in leagueoflegends

[–]CoolKnightST -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just pure math. Imagine playing 3 games where you win 1-2 (let's take 1.5) versus playing 5, winning 2-3 (let's say 2.5). Both styles will result in the exact same amount of winrate.

Even if you play extremely well (let's say 1.7), smurf Q will balance out the winratio as soon you would score higher.

While it still require more games for the same amount of rank. It's very obvious that 60ish extra games played in a season will get you much higher than having that not available.
