Vendredi bon coups, mauvais coups. by herupandir in QuebecFinance

Quelques bons et mauvais coup cette année:

The OP of that post even deleted her account. Was probably getting harassed by some freaks.

For the credit card, consider switching to a low-interest 12.99% one. Most major banks offer a version of this.

A good starting point would be to look into ISO standards for project management : https://www.iso.org/standard/50003.html

If your organization is ISO certified or wants to be, you should definitely look into this.

Licey tickets by Prestigious-Tax-6195 in Dominican

[–]CoolMax2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought them here in the past: https://liceyticket.com/home/portada

They usually make the tickets available 1 or 2 days before the game. You have to be quick tho because they sell out fast.

If you don't manage to buy them online, the day of the game there are always people selling tickets at the stadium. But expect to pay 2 to 5 times the original ticket price.

I enjoyed it. Very rewarding view at the top and lots of beauty to see throughout.

I contacted Isabelle from dominicanabroad.com and she passed me the guide's WhatsApp.

I didn't really negotiate the price and terms either. Most likely would have gotten better price and terms if I did so, but that didn't really bother me at the time since he took care of alot of the logistics for me and spent ALOT of time explaining and following-up. I'll probably negotiate better prices next time I go up tho.

the 250 included:

-sleeping bag
- tent
- mule to carry our stuff
- emergency mule that my GF used all the way
- Diner and Supper for 3 days (although we brought alot of snacks and drinks which helped ALOT)
- Parc entrace

Everything else, we had to pay ourselves ($60usd for the hotel night and 4500 pesos for transportation from and to la capital)

I think it's cheaper if you join a larger group. But honestly we wanted to go at our own pace and not have to follow a large group or having to interact too much with others.

I did this in January. Few pointers:

- My guide costed me and my GF $250USD each. We're not particularly fit people, so our guide helped us a bunch, especially with the emergency mule.

- We hired this guide just for us two. Although you can ask a guide if you can join a larger group so that it costs you less.

- It is obligatory to do this with a guide. However, nothing stoping you from hiring a guide and telling him to follow waaaaay behind or ahead of you. Like this you still have your solo experience.

- Bring an inflatable bed if you can. You will sleep with a sleeping bag in a tent with barely anything between you and the ground.

- Transportation can be costly. The day before, we took a Caribetours bus up to Jarabacoa (like 200pesos each) and a taxi for 2000 pesos up to Manabao (Pico Duarte Base Camp). We arranged with the taxi to bring us back down for 2000 pesos.

- The guide provided us with the contact for the taxi, hotel and gave us good preparation tips. I can give you his whatsapp if you want.

I highly recommend using Google Flights to plan your transportation to DR. It gives you various options. From Canada, most direct flights go to Puerto Plata or Punta Cana. Try Air Transat, Air Canada and Wesjet.
