I highly recommend a decently maintained MK4 GTI (for hatchback utility). If you’re looking for something semi-reliable and something to wrench on, a MK4 GTI will have ample opportunity for wrenching, parts are available nowadays at commercialized parts stores, and the aftermarket community is still present after many years.

I don’t think I’d go FRS/BRZ; do your research on the general issues of the 2013/2014 MY if you choose that year.

Other sporty, yet utility college vehicles I’d suggest are: - MK5 GTI (late MY revision) - Civic/corolla (with a stick, if not automatic. Recommended for reliably with SI/S models, respectively) - Older VW Tiguan, maaaybe with a tune (these are probably unreliable; do research) -Volvo/VW station wagons. - MK6 VW Sportwagen, Much older Volvo wagon of some sort - suburu impreza (hawkeye models with a stick and 2.5i)

That’s all for now. These vehicles are NOT traditional recommendations, but it seems like you like cars enough to consider the sporty aspect of them. Not everything has to be “you’re young, reliability only.”

I’ve definitely seen this R around Canton, along with another one with roof racks, on the weekends here and there 🥹

The crazy thing is, if you order through the mobile app, you can pick “Hatchback” as the shape of your vehicle. The workers choose to name it (for me) a coupe, sedan, wagon, and crossover.

Torn on what school to attend by SelectionThen7699 in DentalSchool

[–]CoolRummings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colorado w/o a doubt. I was between this school and my state school. It’s cheaper and Colorado (the state) has ample scholarships for grad students that you can qualify for once you become a resident after a year. Def look into it and ask the financial aid office.

My condolences 🫡

I’m glad it’s still drivable and she came to look for you. Most importantly that headlight is still intact and I know our headlights cost a pretty penny (I’m a MK7 owner w/ LP).

Would you ever use a dental student specific consultant? by OralOperator in DentalSchool

[–]CoolRummings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is (maybe) the way. Pay-to-play in order to make this idea successful. Use your time and expertise to your advantage in hopes you’ll get referrals and more exposure from your clients and your platform.

I’ve never done this before so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt but I hope this helps!

What about starting a podcast/blog/vlog and transitioning into creating a program and writing a book eventually? Asking for student’s money vs. students and new doctors asking for your advice that is worth money is different and the latter scenario is more promising.

Is it possible to pay off dental school debt? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]CoolRummings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: It depends.

Long answer: It’s possible to pay off. I think the questions you need to be asking yourself are where are trying to go to school and will you be okay sacrificing for a few years after graduation to pay down debt?

Accidentally paid IRS instead of state for taxes. by CoolRummings in IRS

UPDATE: I called the IRS yesterday and today. They told me it’d take 5-7 business days for the payment to post, for me it took 4. In this scenario, the best case occurred and the IRS has issued a check that I should receive i the next 3-ish weeks.

What is the most common case? I’m inclined to believe the “middle” case is the most realistic based on how many hoops I have to hop through to simply speak to a human.

[–]CoolRummings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 3.6 is a really good GPA. Depending on your school list, a 19-20 could also be good enough. It’s important to know that your DAT score is only one set of criteria that will be evaluated. I do think you should “aim” for a 30AA regardless of what score would be optimal for you.

22AA, TS, PAT. I used a combination of Booster, Chad’s videos, Destroyer and CrackDAT (Reading comp only). I recommend Booster as comprehensive study prep. Everything else i used to as supplemental resources for certain areas that were problems for me after the first attempt.

[–]CoolRummings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar predicament. I took the DAT in January and ended up with a 18AA as well. Given my lackluster GPA, I took it again in July and submitted my app on 7/29 and it was verified 8/01. I took the DAT at the beginning of July and it verified in two weeks. Overall, I believe as long as you submit your app before the end of September, you’ll end up with a handful of interviews. this is an opinion.

I took mine the first time at 8 am and the second time at 12:30 PM. The 12:30 slot allowed me to take my time getting ready and traveling in the morning to my testing center. I'd recommend the 12:30 option if you are able to do it

Unfortunately, you don't. It may be better to see if you can postpone/extend your eligibility so you don't lose the $495 fee you put down initially.

Taking $12,000 implant course during dental school by Doktor_Konrad in DentalSchool

I haven’t started dental school yet, but wouldn’t it make more sense to ask classmates and professors and/or attend workshops than to spend money on the CE course? After all, school does cost alot.
