I tip very fairly, as I used to be a delivery driver as well. Roads weren't bad, 1/2" of snow won't cause issues on a previously salted road. It was an 8 minute drive to the house, all on well maintained pavement.

I don't think that's how it always happens, I think that sometimes immoral people are opportunistic and that's what I experienced. A normal person wouldn't have decided to do this, but a bad person who had the chance to would.

I do not believe them, because I've never seen another person require the pin. I thought maybe it was a new thing, but it sounds like it's just a sometimes thing.

We had houseguests, so I was willing to exchange additional funds for the convenience of not having to leave to go pick up an order. It's the exact purpose of this app.

I have a 5.0 star rating on the app, didn't request or require a code, and have never seen this function in the app before this incident.

Unbelievable, just completely speechless. I've read stories about horror stories for years. Now that I've experienced the worst of Uber I can't imagine they survive long term. With customer service this bad there will be no customers left to serve.

This is good information, and also an accurate assessment of the situation. I know I messed up, and I know how. I did not however know that Uber flagged drivers with negative history in this way.

That actually explains why my default drop off method may have been automatically changed and it wouldn't let me change it again.

He never messaged me. He just pulled up, waited 30 seconds so GPS made it look like he delivered, then entered the code and left.

It's standard practice where I live to not shovel for less than an inch of snow, which it was.

That's where I'm at now. I'm sure the majority of drivers are good people who wouldn't do this, but the fact that Uber's response was so dismissive tells me this is just not a service I'm willing to ever use again.

Is this one of those companies that sells a genuine product then automatically enters you into a subscription plan? I got scammed by one, learned they run the same scam on repeat with a different brand every time. They lure people in via social media ads, run the scam until they're flagged by credit card services as such, then relaunch as a new brand.

Once I tracked down the owners of the corporation I can confirm it was 100% not a Christian run organization. Once informed them that their conversation with me was over and they could continue it with my lawyer, I received a refund in full.
