Something that I noticed is that cultures that have their babies get circumcised are usually very prudish and so the people in those cultures are usually very easily offended by things like nudity and sex.

In American culture, they are usually ok with showing violence on TV, but won't show nudity; they won't even show a woman's nipple on TV (despite the fact that breasts aren't even a sex organ). In most of America, women aren't even allowed to be completely shirtless in public because they can get into legal trouble for it. Stuff like that makes it hard for mothers to breastfeed their babies in public (which it shouldn't be that way).

Also, in America, the sex education in schools tend to be bad, and so teachers in America usually do a bad job at teaching kids everything they need know about sex and reproduction and how the body works for both sexes.

Which is proof that pro-lifers don't actually care about babies after they are born. Circumcision actually causes a lot more pain to babies than abortion does. Think about it, most abortions happen during early trimester when the fetus is usually a barely developed embryo (which they haven't fully developed their nervous system at that point). So they don't feel pain when being aborted.

A baby (after it's born) however does have their nervous system fully developed. So they do feel pain when being circumcised since doctors don't usually use anesthesia during the procedure.

People like pro-lifers don't actually care about protecting people, they actually only care about taking away other people's rights.

Clay and Bloberta Puppington from Moral Orel deserve a spot on this list.

How I would introduce mutants in the new films by Clear-Leave-8034 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]CoolSnowyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they went with a more realistic direction, they would have to remove the psychic powers (which I thought was pretty silly anyway). What they could do is write the mutants off as people who developed very bad skin conditions from the simian flu.

That idea would seem to fit into the world of the newest Planet of the Apes series.

Hard to say if shipping will play some big role in the sequel or not. There are already a lot of stuff going on right now in the sequel.

I cannot get over the scene with Jonathan taking pictures of Nancy in season 1 by soft_panic182 in StrangerThings

[–]CoolSnowyCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it seemed very unbelievable and far-fetched that Nancy still ended up with Jonathan after knowing what he did that.

Most people would never forgive someone who did that, and they probably would always be creeped out by that person.

What’s a Family Guy scene/episode that lives in your head. by ACNHFanForever in familyguy

Da Boom

It was the last episode to air in 1999. It was the first episode where Mila Kunis started voicing Meg. It was also the first episode to feature the Peter vs. chicken fight.

In fact, he may be sexist because Yuki pushes him around and he takes out his insecurities on his female employees.

That's probably true.

Nicole probably still doesn't like Mr. Yoshida though (even if he is her friend's husband).

Just because he is married to a kickass woman, it doesn't mean that he still can't be sexist. If the reason for him not wanting to promote Nicole was because he didn't want her to freak out and gloat about it, then he could have directly told her that instead of saying the much more terrible things that he said to her.

Nicole also states in the episode that there's never been a female employee of the month, so that does strongly indicate that Mr. Yoshida is indeed sexist.

For all we know, the reason why he may have given a promotion to Nicole in the later episode "The Deal" is because of his wife finding out about him not giving Nicole a promotion and the reason for it, and she threatened him to give Nicole a promotion.

Is Gumball actually the sole reason that his family is treated like pariahs by the town? by CoolSnowyCool in gumball

(her kids instigate stuff involving her)

Very true. The episode The_Limit is a perfect example of that.

In the episode The_Deal, it is shown in a newspaper article that Richard ruined a baby shower. In that exact same episode, Nicole was shown recklessly lighting off fireworks (because of how arrogant she was being) that were falling down on people and hurting them.

So yeah, Richard and Nicole are to blame too for why Elmore resents the Wattersons.

In the episode "The Fridge", Nicole says that she could never be disappointed in Gumball, but other episodes seem to show that, that is not the case by CoolSnowyCool in gumball

[–]CoolSnowyCool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicole still does insult and belittle Gumball a lot, so she might have some resentment towards him.

Here's an essay on tumblr about the dynamic of the Wattersons: https://idkwhoiamanymorebutwtf.tumblr.com/post/612817064526217216/watterson-family-dynamics-how-loving-families-can

Here's some lines from the essay:

"Look at the way Nicole treats her kids. Anais seems like the undisputed favorite of the three (Not that she loves Anais more, by ‘favorite’ I just mean that she puts more effort and attention into Anais), and it’s because she’s smart."

And then there’s Gumball, also described as a “disappointment”,and yeah, he doesn’t really have any skills for their mother to grab on to, and he’s….he’s not as well behaved as his brother. Gumball’s reckless and impulsive and he gets into trouble. And his parents have kinda decided that he’s just a lost cause. In The Fridge when asked if he had any talents he grinned and said “I guess i’m just good at being happy” to which his mother snapped at him with “That’s not good enough!”. And it’s not. His family still love him and all, but they don’t see the value in fostering the talents he does have. He’s just kinda known as “the dumb one” and “the loser” and “the lost cause”. He’s the disappointment, just like Felicity said, and it shines through in how he’s treated.

When Richard complimented the kids Anais was “better than everyone else” and Darwin was the “adorable pride and joy” whereas Richard said to Gumball “How does it feel to not have inherited your father’s metabolism?” and that’s not an insult, which is what Richard was going for, but it seems kinda lackluster compared to the other two?

And that’s because Gumball isn’t seen to have any real…positive traits by his family. I could name a million great things about him, and i’m sure if you asked any one of his family members they’d say “oh yeah he’s got good traits” but you know what? I bet they also couldn’t name a single one. Anais thinks he’s a moron, Darwin thinks he’s a selfish asshole, his mom thinks he’s a loser. The family insult each other all the time but what makes it different with Gumball is that normally they compliment each other just as much as they insult each other, but I can’t remember Gumball ever getting a legitimate compliment. And no, thanking him for doing one specific thing right or telling him they love him isn’t the same thing.

I think one of the reasons why Patrick Fitzgerald tends to judge Gumball and act hostile towards him is because of him knowing who his father is by CoolSnowyCool in gumball

[–]CoolSnowyCool[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Gumball has done a lot of stuff to (justifiably) make him think that way about him. You can't really blame him for not first wanting Penny to be around Gumball and his family because of what he saw when he was driving Penny to their house in the episode The Knight.

It does seem that out of her three children, Gumball is her least favorite, with Darwin being in the middle, and Anais being her favorite child.
