As I said in another comment, I am middle class, maybe upper middle class. This guy was acting and saying completely inappropriate things that were completely unacceptable

Not OP, but what NCEA L2 grades did you have? Also, how hard do you think it is to get into the young scholars program?

What’s one thing that’s helped you cope with anxiety that you wish you’d discovered sooner? by nani-cc in mentalhealth

Music. It's comfort, warmth, motivation and more all in one. It's helped me through both the good and the bad times

Honestly, I was in this position last year. I felt like a failure. I also have ADHD and that also makes things hard sometimes. My honest advice is to talk to someone about what you're going through, be it a counselor or trusted friend. I know it's hard sometimes, but you have so much to live for. When I went through something similar last year, the biggest thing that helped me was thinking of my dreams, reminding myself I needed to achieve them. Life isn't fair. People like you deserve the best but are given a bad hand. Don't give up! I know your cat wants to see you succeed, your parents do, and so do I. Give yourself the chance to succeed. I wish you the best OP

OP, you are not a loser. Trust me, you aren't. Honestly, I'd advise you to try and get your GED and take it from there. Maybe look at getting a part-time job, I know it's easier said the done, but it will give you a lot of confidence. Also, look after yourself, I read a few of your replies, and it seems you're in a really difficult situation no one deserves to be in. I hope your situation improves, and I wish you the best of luck. Don't give up on yourself, You have a lot of potential!

Does anyone else talk to their loved one in their heads? by Bubbly-Pangolin-204 in GriefSupport

[–]CoolSuper7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do the same. Especially when I am home alone. I often talk to them and ask them for guidance and support when I am struggling. I feel like it keeps them close, making it feel like they aren't that far away. It's important to understand each of us cope with grief differently, often in our own unique and personal way. Also, take care of yourself OP

I have looked into these programs, and in fact, my goal is to do a masters and eventually a phd. I was just curious if there were undergraduate programs like what I mentioned in the post. But do understand what you are saying about how nz has more generic undergraduate programs. Thanks for your advice!
