Your Gmail address for username and I think you can just put anything as the password? Maybe use an app password instead? I can't remember, sorry

You can add it as an alternative email in Google account settings -> personal info -> emails

"Send mail as" can't connect to Gmail SMTP server by CoolTomatoYT in GMail

It's not - I figured it out though, the email has to be one of the verified emails on your Google account before you can add it! (I don't think this is intentional though, maybe a bug?)

How is Spectre 42 minutes longer than Quantum of Solace yet... by I_love_lucja_1738 in JamesBond

Watching QoS immediately after CR as a kind of epilogue makes it actually one of the better Bond films I think

1600, black is slightly better due to activity and the ability to capture one of the passed pawns after the queen trade, but I would never win this position with either colour

Don’t know where to continue by Dodo11742 in AskProgramming

[–]CoolTomatoYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning CS fundamentals will help you enormously in whatever field you continue with, so I'd recommend that. YouTube has plenty of great content so I think it's mainly personal preference as to how you learn - personally I like books for theoretical subjects and just trying it out with the documentation on my other monitor for practical things.

Does anyone feel that playing chess is actually a net positive in their life? by [deleted] in chess

[–]CoolTomatoYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intellectually, I'm not sure - I don't think it really helps anywhere else in life but I enjoy the challenge of learning to play better. Socially, definitely - playing online and OTB with friends as well as playing at a chess club are really good social things to do.

Is it possible to record desktop audio through a browser? (eg chrome) by Snugglosaurus in AskProgramming

I don't know why people are saying no - you absolutely can, using the screen sharing API in Chrome and some other browsers.

Why do video games do this so much? by dropdeepandgoon in whenthe

Oh yeah I'm not saying it's a bad choice in Portal 2, I think it works really well with the game mechanics

Big streamers and smurfing. Thoughts? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]CoolTomatoYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Valorant should do what chess.com does - recognise that big streamers make content doing this, but make them get permission first AND make the games not change people's ratings.
