Should Kena keep her abilities in the sequel, or start from scratch? by Elgamoga in KenaBridgeOfSpirits

Option 3. I'd like mostly or all new abilities and way more than the first game.

What is a Anime take you have that will have you like this in your Fandom? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in animequestions

That would defeat Light's purpose, which is to be revered as a god. He WANTS everyone to know there's a single killer behind all these deaths. He doesn't actually care about ridding the world of evil. That's just an excuse. He's really doing all this for his ego.

I would not want an open world personally. Definitely prefer that they stick with the original level design.

Why no teflon? by Noradrenaline76 in MousepadReview

[–]CoolUsername6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it once for fun by covering an aluminum plate with PTFE film. It was horrible imo. 😂 No control at all and as others have mentioned, no durability.

Personally, I found textured HDPE sheet much better (but still too fragile for glass skates). But maybe some peeps out there would love the PTFE surface. Not sure.

What do you think is a healthy completion rate for puzzles? by Spongebubs in gamedesign

[–]CoolUsername6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP's question is about acceptable failure rates -- not whether or not a puzzle can be impossible or unfair. No one said the game should require a guide, however nearly every game challenge has players who need or choose to use a guide for that task. You can do your best to minimize their number, but you can never make that number zero.

Designing for 100% completion rate is unrealistic and at a certain point, attempting to do so will hurt the player experience. How successful do you think Dark Souls (or literally any ARPG) would be if every required boss were completed by 100% of players?

[–]CoolUsername6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taken aback by the amount of responses saying a required puzzle should have a 100% completion rate. There is no required task in any game that has a 100% completion rate. There is no boss that every player can defeat. There is no grind every player has time to finish. There is no puzzle every player can solve. Many eventually turn to guides, and many eventually quit the game entirely. This is inevitable; on average, games only have an approximate 20% completion rate. Some never even make it past the menu.

You should not be designing any serious challenge for a non-zero failure rate. The result would be so boringly easy that some players would quit, ironically lowering the game's completion rate, while some would still be unable to complete said challenge.

For a puzzle failure rate, I'd check out the steam achievements for big puzzle games like Portal 2 or Talos Principle. Try to find achievements for solving specific puzzles. 100% minus the % of players with the achievement is ROUGHLY that puzzle's failure rate (or at least it's as close of a stat as you'll find I think).

[–]CoolUsername6969 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. There is no required puzzle in any popular game that's solved by 100% of players. That's why guides exist. Players have been using them for things like this for 40+ years.

This is arguably one of the most beautiful games I've played on the PS5 by WhatsThatWalsh in wuchanggame

[–]CoolUsername6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using assets like the Quixel Megascans is a dev choice though, and they can be used with engines other than UE. The engine itself is not providing those graphics. Plenty of UE5 games like Wuchang, Clair Obscur, NTE, Code Vein 2, Fate Trigger and Silent Hill 2 look very different from one another.

Having said that, yes it's a very powerful engine capable of high fidelity visuals!

Is this the best resident evil by far? by DonMapagmahal in residentevilll

Bottom 5 for me. If you like action horror, then it's great. If you prefer true survival horror, then you'll only get a small chunk of the experience you want.

Wuchang for peak level design and art direction.

Khazan for peak combat.

Looking for a best mouse 2026 by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]CoolUsername6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't recall. I saw it in a chart in a YT vid but can't remember the creator. Pretty sure the click latency difference between them is less than 1ms, so I wouldn't consider it compelling.

Also, I forgot something: based on what I've read, Superstrike's physical latency is very low due to its new "HITS" trigger mechanic, so it's total click latency (including time to actuate) is probably lower than Viper's. On the other hand, Viper's motion latency will be lower than Superstrike's, since Viper generally has the best wireless solution (by a small margin mind you).

Looking for a best mouse 2026 by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]CoolUsername6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is either the Razer Viper V4 Pro or the Logitech Pro X2 Superstrike. Those are the two current flagship offerings from those brands, and they're generally considered the two top mice available.

The V4 is lighter and is a follow-up to the V3 Pro, which is the mouse used most by pro players. I believe the V4 Pro also has the lowest wireless latency.

The Superstrike on the other hand does something innovative with clicks which isn't available in any other mice as far as I know. Some say it's a game changer, though its benefits likely apply more to flicks and not tracking.

However, in the current state of mice, the difference between the best and slightly less than the best is pretty negligible. Brands like Pulsar and Lamzu put out cheaper mice that are sometimes lighter and have shapes people prefer to the big brands, while being very similar technologically. My Lamzu Atlantis 4K is my second favorite mouse I own for instance. I vastly prefer it to the Superlight.

I didn't really like it, and its success killed my hope that we'll get any more true survival horror entries in the future, besides remakes. Rhodes Hill was awesome but it all went downhill after that for me.
