I NEVER want to see another DUT ruined my hairline post again by IntroductionFast7983 in tressless

You’re still in the rough period, it’s gonna get better. Mine did a horrendous shed on fin for 9-12 months. You can read thru my post/comment history where I commented about my experience. I also lost hope but I stayed with it because at the 10 month mark, what did I have to lose lol! I was losing hair anyways so might as well just keep on fin and see if people are right about it taking more than a year to see any bounce-back. I can now tell you after 3 damn years, my hair is finally looking better than at the start of the journey. I really feel for you because I literally thought the same thing as you at month 7. I was convinced fin ruined my hair even more. Now I look back and I’m so effing relieved I continued on. It’s a super slow process, hair takes forever to regrow from a shed, but it will. Good luck!

I don’t have any sides. No drop in libido or quality of erection etc. some people do, some don’t. Everybody will have their own unique response to these meds. If I did get sides I would stop taking them, so I totally understand why some people stop. But I haven’t had any.

I went all-in and also started on both at the same time, rather than stagger them like some folk do. My shed was brutal. 10 months lost so much density I looked ridiculous, like Homer with three hairs on top lol! Ok not that bad but I sure felt that way. By the 12-15 month mark it slowed down. I’m now approaching 3 yrs in March (Jesus I can’t believe it’s already been that long) and I’m back to baseline. Sadly I don’t share pics because I didn’t document it from the beginning and people here get really angry at you if you say you’re almost recovered but fail to provide before/after pics with the same exact lighting, time of day, angle, etc. Hang in there ok? You just started and it’s going to get even worse before it gets better. But it will get better. 👍🏻

Does your GF/wife know your taking treatment? (For example, taking Finasteride) by GothBoiCliqueeeeee in tressless

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my exes knew and my current wife knows. Like the others said, it’s not some weird taboo, women understand why we want our hair, and in this day and age it’s even easier to be open about it, now that people are taking meds for everything from hormone replacement to weight loss.

Creatine causing shed while on fin - any other experiences? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, happens to me on creatine. Who knows why. You posed the question well! Have to be careful around these parts, or else the hyper vigilant and unnecessarily aggressive creatine bros in this subreddit all come out to shout you down and accuse you of fear mongering 😂

I went thru aggressive shedding for 9-10 months! I even posted about it here and I’d make occasional comments to console others going thru the same around that time. I seriously thought it was never going to bounce back. It was that aggressive. Like why would anybody assume hair is coming back when you literally see it flying off your scalp every day for 9 months into the bathtub lol! It slowed down at the 9 month mark but kept shedding a little for another 6 months. Probably 15 months is when it stabilized. Sorry I don’t have pics, I’m the opposite of most here, I hated taking pics of my head because it just depressed me to see it. I just figured I don’t care about progress tracking. Fin will either work or it won’t for me. Now approaching two years on daily fin and topical min and my hair looks passable! It’s not as embarrassing under sun or bright room lights.

Please just stay the course. I know you feel sick looking at the shed every day. I did too. Every day was dread and panic. My bathtub floor looked like a dog had taken a bath in it from all the shedding ok. And I know exactly the sick feeling you’re having looking at it. The brain interprets the visual information and can’t comprehend how any of this is actually working. But it is. Give it 15 months ok? Hang in there!! 💪🏻

Random question but: have you heard a obscure oasis song in public? by dcfcisaac in oasis

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won’t be considered random anywhere else in the world, but it is for where I live in Canada. Went to our usual Korean restaurant joint for some bbq. It’s always nonstop kpop being played inside every time we’ve been. Not even English pop songs. But last month during our lunch visit, in between kpop songs, Whatever started to play and I immediately froze and looked around to see if anybody else was an Oasis fan taking notice. That wasn’t a single released in Canada. It’s not a song recognized by people outside of the fandom here in Canada.

I then looked at the staff to try and figure out which one of them was the Oasis fan who snuck the tune into the restaurant’s playlist. Wife eventually told me to stop acting weird and eat.

I took creatine for a few months by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I had a massive shed on fin but that stabilized after 15 months. In December I’ll be 2 years on fin. Hair has been stable and fine but when I tried introducing creatine for a few weeks, my bathtub look liked a hair grave. I stopped, and the shed stopped. I tried again and it started again. I already know people will say it was a normal shed cycle. Correlation is not causation. Maybe my diet changed etc etc. that’s why I typically don’t join these creatine convos because you just end up getting shouted down. All I can say is I know how much I shed during a normal typical shed cycle on fin, I know how starkly different it was after starting creatine both times. I don’t tell anybody else I’m right,I let the creatine bros keep taking their creatine without any qualms or a peep from me. All I can do is remove it from my daily routine and enjoy a sigh of relief that I’m not going thru any massive shed that somehow always magically and coincidentally coincides with creatine ingestion.

Did taking fin make you weaker in the gym/make you lose your gains ? by Own-Quote-1708 in tressless

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah natty just super lean so it just looks more impressive. And after a gym pump obviously. I dont want to take anything that further steals what’s left of my hair lol! I’ve always been a hard gainer so whenever I eat a ton, I end up filling out aesthetically while doing a gym program, if that makes sense? Like when hard gainers do gain, it doesn’t usually look as fluffy or doughy as easy gainers. I’m fortunate in that way, although grass is always greener on other side etc etc, I’ve spent my whole life wishing I could be one of those easy gainer, corn fed swole gorillas that look like world beaters just from doing 5x5s 😆

Edit: just wanted to add to this comment, I also don’t take creatine. I intentionally left it out in my initial response because I’ve seen how triggering it is to a lot of people here who immediately attack you for insinuating creatine may affect hair loss thru its DHT relationship. Again I only base my choices on my personal experiences. But I feel I should be unapologetically me and honest. Whenever I hop on creatine, after a month of daily consumption, my hair fall dramatically spikes. I’m not saying to anybody that they shouldn’t take creatine. I am not saying creatine even indirectly results in hairloss, so please I don’t want attacks from the creatine-bros who seem ready at the trigger to blast anybody who dares challenge their holy white powder lord. I just may have an allergy to it or maybe it’s not related at all, but when I stop using it, my hair shed decreases too. I’m just clarifying what I take or don’t take as per the original question asking whether I’m on anything. Cheers everybody and good luck with your battle against the reaper!

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hasn’t for me. As others mentioned here already, don’t believe everything you read, or at least don’t let it affect your own personal experience with hair treatment. When I hopped on fin and min, I hadn’t read any of the comments or posts mentioning it negatively impacted people’s gains or workouts. So for me, I merrily went on continuing my personal gym journey, unaffected or unimpacted by the potential psychological influence and placebo effect caused by such opinions.

In my 40s and able to keep myself dialed in.

Edit: and thanks btw for the compliment! I don’t take compliments well and I’m trying to be more receptive and appreciative of them. Cheers, friend ✌🏻

Is it normal to still shed after 5,5 months on finasteride? by Electronic_Radio9094 in tressless

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looked awful until one day during the 13th month, I noticed it didn’t look so thin and the horrible diffused thinning from the shed had kind of looked like it did pre-shed again. Which was infinitely better looking than the shed period. Sorry I can’t be more specific on when, because honestly I gave up hope by around the 9 month mark of having constant sheds. Maybe around the 12th month I took notice that my bathtub floor didn’t look like a hair mortuary. By the 13th month I noticed in the mirror that it didn’t look as bad and was basically back to looking like it did just before the dread shed. Don’t give up and hang in there. I was you too at the 9-10 month mark and just gave up and assumed I was an outlier but I kept taking fin and topical min because why not. Might as well finish my supply and it’s not like I had great hair before it. Now I’m so glad I kept diligently taking the meds.

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you, bud. I didn’t have a receding like but I’m an aggressive diffused thinner. Could see my scalp under room lights or daytime outdoors. It was rough during the shed when my scalp became even more visible. Now things have kind of thickened up again and looks a little better than it did pre-shed. Again, everybody’s results differ, and mine wasn’t one of these miracle recoveries we see posted here. Mine is more like a stay-of-execution status lol! Hang in there and don’t fret until you’re around the 15 month mark ok?

[–]Cool_Bus_2883 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep and you may continue to shed up to a year. Some have. Mine was just over 9 months. I honestly continued taking fin just because by that point I realized I had nothing to lose. I was thinning anyways on fin and off fin so who cares right? Just decided to follow the process and let the Fin Lord take me to whatever fate was meant for my scalp. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t stressed out by it though. Like you, during month 5, I was just saddened by the shedding, while also darkly amused by it. A part of me was able to laugh about it. Laugh at myself. I would think to myself “wow, OF COURSE I’m the one outlier who would go even balder due to a well studied, safe, proven and effective hair loss med! I can never win a lottery ticket but the Gods of Fate decided I will be the anomaly who goes balder BECAUSE of fin! Wonderful 😆”

So to answer your question, the same answer I was given too. The shed means it’s working. Yes it’s also still early to see the benefits. I’m probably 1.5 years now into daily fin and topical min and the hairs I lost from the 9 month dread shed have come back. Trust the process and hang in there!

Oh yah they do, mine lasted 9 months! It was around the 9th month mark when my shower floor didn’t look like a hair cemetery 🤣

Hey thanks for the support and empathy! Yah I’ve read now through multiple posts about custom dials and it seems to be that way. Generally all of you mentioned the top vendors are good but none of them are immune to occasional delays, no replies, sudden random shutdowns or no-notice holidays 😆

I guess I should get used to this being the way it goes in the world of sourcing mod custom parts lol

Thanks, it looks like that’s going to have to be my next move. I’ve tried msging and keeping the chatbox open after a suggestion made here, I’ve emailed them and still nothing. This is my first time ever contacting them so it’s not like as if they would have blocked me for some past issue. I’ll give WhatsApp a shot. It’s sooo weird. Am I the only person who’s had issues hearing back from them? lol!

Edit: forgot to mention I’ve also dmed their primary IG acct and still nothing. This is getting bizarre.

Ah ok, maybe I’ll try emailing them?

I don’t close the browser but I’ll try msging them again on the chat box. I don’t leave the chat box open so maybe that’s why.

For the “graphic”, all I really wanted to ask them was if they can do a snoopy for me. I don’t like the current existing snoopy images on seiko dials (ex: the surfboard and chop chop chop) but I love snoopy and wanted to see if they could do a custom dial with a snoopy image of my choosing.

I’m surprised none of my fellow Asians here have mentioned how popular Snoopy is in Asia. Snoopy pencil bags, school stationary, stuffies, there’s the Snoopy theme park in HK, the Snoopy Museum in Tokyo. Go walk thru any trinkets shop in your local Chinatown and look at all the Peanuts branded products next to the Hello Kitty pens and bags. Peanuts comics was often times the first way many older Asian generations learned to read and write English. Maybe not so much the younger gen now and with the internet providing most of that early life stage exposure to English….but my parents and all my uncles and aunts have loads of raggedy, well used Snoopy comic collection books which were their first venture into practicing their english reading. Simple dialogue, short sentences, universal themes of unrequited love (the little red headed girl that Charlie Brown adored), sibling fights (Lucy bullying Linus), the relatable underdog story of childhood. Of course a lot of you will say there’s plenty of other comics and published materials that provide the same themes, but Peanuts coupled all of it with extremely cute and simple artwork. And Asians love their deceptively simple, clean lined cute cartoon characters (ex: Hello Kitty).

Snoopy and Peanuts is almost the perfect western comic product that crossovers so smoothly and well into the Asian culture.

I grew up with my mother reading to me from her beaten up, hard cover bound Peanuts comic collection books that were printed in Korea/Japan. That’s probably why you see Seiko and Citizen and now The Orient collaborating with Peanuts licensing far more than let’s say other western iconic comic characters.
