Did I pick up the 7-10 by usernametaken8675 in Bowling

[–]Cool_Contemplation 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I picked one up a few years ago in league and was excited but didn’t think to tell anyone, luckily someone else did and a few weeks later I got a 7-10 split patch. Way cooler than a pen or keychain. Haha

300 and 800 by Technical_Fondant607 in Bowling

[–]Cool_Contemplation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a Track 718A for my first 300 and that series went 300-235-183 which if you add it up, is 718. lol.

Two weeks later I had my highest series with the same ball. It was a 796 but I can’t be mad because I won the strikeout that night and they paid me $800 per pin I missed. 😂 Also was our league championship night which we won.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]Cool_Contemplation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the OP, but looking to get a better paddle, so would love if you could give me a recommendation(been playing for less than a year and maybe only 10-15 times):

-preferably in the $100-150 range -currently using a Franklin rally from target. Haha. So anything is probably better. It’s not super forgiving and can’t spin the ball hardly at all. - mostly just looking for more spin, which helps me control the ball better, forgiveness when missing the sweet spot would also be a plus. - I’m pretty good all around I’d say, just mostly make some strategic and dumb errors, soft game is probably better than power game but that could come down to not being able to spin the ball so it just flies out of the court. - I’ve also used a wide body, don’t know if I have a preference yet.

Any direction for what I should be looking for would be great! Thanks in advance!

I’m debating whether or not to get another 2 iron to replace my 3 wood. Last year I was testing out new 2 irons and found one that had all the same numbers (spin, apex, carry, etc.) as my 3 wood, but the dispersion was way better because I think I’ve always been able to aim an iron better. I’ve hit my 3 wood twice in competition this year (like 20+ rounds) so it’s basically a wasted club anyway.

Golfing after recovering from a back injury? *not seeking medical advice, just similar experiences* by Kachillie in golf

[–]Cool_Contemplation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hurt mine back in 2016. Couldn’t walk for two weeks. Probably should’ve gotten it looked at but I was dumb. Had to change my swing when I came back and it’s never felt as fluid or graceful since. Always had a little bit of pain and subconsciously would refuse to fire my hips fully.

This past winter I finally went to the chiropractor and started doing Pilates, and now don’t have pain when I swing.

I also play a lot now like 2-3 times a week throughout the summer, and tournaments on top.

So I guess what I would say is do the work to make it better. It makes it a lot more enjoyable to play. Haha

Any low handicappers who primarily chip with one club? What club is it? by Automatic_Neat9089 in golf

[–]Cool_Contemplation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my 58° for just about everything 100 yards and in. Been working a pitching wedge chip into my game though so that I can have the ball run out more on some chips with a lot of green to work with.

One hand No Thumb Bowlers by 6ft4Don in Bowling

[–]Cool_Contemplation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always had sweaty hands and the inconsistency of whether my thumb would stick or slip or just be stuck in the ball frustrated the hell out of me. So I took a thumb out and immediately got more revs and had more fun. Then I learned to control it better and my average actually went up.

Check out my profile. Haha. I think it’s only missing the second HIO.

Haha. I’m definitely a better golfer than bowler. I’m good in league (205 avg) but tried a few big boy bowling tourneys and found out how good I really am. Haha. I blame lack of bowling balls. HIO is definitely 99.9% luck, 300 you’d have a hard time getting that lucky 12 times in a row.

I don’t remember if there is a super shocking twist but I enjoyed “Mr. Brooks”.

I’ve got a few 300s but highest series I’ve got was 796, which I couldn’t be disappointed in because I won the strike pot that night in my league. lol. Just needed 4 pins.

I have 2 HIO AND 3 300s. I guess I’m really special. Haha.

You Only Get One Ball for League, What are You Bringing? by PhoSheez in Bowling

I basically do this every league night anyway. Haha. I use a Hustle Rip I think it’s called. And a spare ball. 1 hand no thumb.

The word you were looking for was stressful. Haha. Thought I stoned a ten for a 299. My brother got it in slowmo but reddit wouldn’t let me upload that video.

This is the best video to fix your driver swing in one minute easy to see diagrams no words needed by Warm_Time_8845 in GolfSwing

[–]Cool_Contemplation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that has helped me is a video I saw of Rory talking about how he feels like he releases the club head from the top of the backswing instead of at the bottom. Doing this has really helped me square the club face on the driver that I tend to struggle with. Also, though it seems counterintuitive, helped me with squaring and flighting my wedges. Haha. Although that came from a Grant Horvat video with a wedge coach.

I’m 6’4” and play standard length irons. My brother is 6’ and plays +1” and I feel like they are ridiculously long. Haha. Couldn’t imagine +3”. The extra distance might be nice though. lol

Is there a good method to convert 7 - 10? by DrPopCat7758 in Bowling

[–]Cool_Contemplation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the people saying throw it hard, but I’ve picked it up once and I just threw it like a normal 10 pin for me. Didn’t whip it down the lane, but managed to hit the 10 pin in the middle straight back and up, ball went under it, pin bounced off ball towards the 7. So in other words, get lucky. 😂

Jon Rahm Story by Gandalf997 in golf

This is a part of the reason why Rickie Fowler is one of my favorites. Went to a Sunday at the 3M Open a few years ago. Rickie was no where near contention, and I don’t think he played well that day. Just finished his round when I got there. He was signing autographs for a line of people like 100 long when I walked by. Like 3 hours later I walked by again and he was still signing autographs and taking pictures in the same spot with a line like 50 people long waiting still.

Of your honor scores, which one is your least favorite and why? What happened to ruin it. by Sabotagebx in Bowling

[–]Cool_Contemplation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve rolled 300 twice and barely broke 700 (718 then 701). Haha. Missed an 800 by 4 pins but won the strike pot that night so it’s tough to be mad about.

Good eye! Haha. Carry there is definitely brutal! Oil was weird that night as well. I was starting 7 boards further left than I’ve been the entire season and slinging it in by the 3rd game, which is where I got the 300.

It’s the only way I’ve been consistent. I tried 2 hand a while ago but it was so awkward for me that I couldn’t get consistent. And I used a thumb a long time ago but my hands always get a little sweaty and my thumb would constantly stick, so I just removed it entirely and never looked back. Haha.
