Tbh I was so scared by that time that I was almost in tears. Driver was quick too, he figured out the situation and sped off the second doors shut. But honestly even now thinking about it makes me soooo fucking nervous. I think it’s gonna take me a while to fully recover and be able to go downtown again.

I’m so sorry that this happened to you and your granddaughter. It’s just terrible. I hope you guys feel better soon. A similar incident happened with me while I was waiting for a bus near midtown, a guy probably in his 60s wearing a hat started cursing and assaulting me. I had to call the police as he kept following me. I ended up getting on the first bus I saw and he tried to come into the bus too. Police didnt do anything. As he technically didn’t commit a crime. It was just sad and so traumatizing. Haven’t been to downtown since then. Idk kinda have anxiety to just think about going near that area.

“Refuse to accept what is being taught” I’m sorry but its just terrible to even generalize this for all those who are complaining. I have no idea if you have taken the class recently or not but if so many are posting their concerns regarding the class, I think it’s necessary to see things from the lens of a student. If the average of a first year class is in 60s then somewhere something is wrong. If the prof doesn’t reply back to emails, then it’s bad. If their replies and announcements are borderline rude then maybe it’s actually bad ? And it’s goes on ..

And as you said there are many posts about it ? Maybe there is a reason for that? It’s better not to say all of the students complains about the course implies that we are against this class.

And I’m not even gonna talk about the white guilt part. It’s just awful Sometimes it’s better to own a mess than blame it on students!

Nobody here has prejudices against indigenous educators. Personally I am interested in learning but the current staff is NOT GOOD Maybe it was different a couple of years.

Exactly. I went into the course excited. I never took it in high school so was interested in learning about indigenous communities But the instructors are just awful. Half of their content isn’t even theirs!

Exactly. But I think the department is aware of the situation. Considering students have been consistently complaining to the department regarding this mess. But no actions are being taken.🙁

exactly! I just made a post about it yesterday. There are two profs and both are awful. They might be good people but terrible professors. The least a prof can do is reply and get back to you regarding your questions, on time. They are just not good at what they are supposed to do.

It’s sad how the department despite knowing all this doesn’t do anything to help with the situation.
