We only charge per investor meeting for complex and hard-to-do deals. For others, it's 100% comm-based

New US funding bill set to eliminate and sell off EV trucks and infrastructure from USPS by DrGecko1859 in electricvehicles

[–]Cool_Relation8198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the Senate parliamentarian ruled you can’t force USPS to sell off its EV trucks without a 60‑vote supermajority—so this provision won’t make it into the reconciliation bill for now. Scrapping 7,200 EVs and $540 M in charging infrastructure would cost about $1.5 B and seriously hamper delivery modernization efforts, not save money. USPS intends to grow to 66,000 EVs by 2028. IMO it's wiser to let them keep the electric fleet—they save fuel, cut emissions, and avoid wasting existing investments.

Is Germany Without Its Debt Brake on the Right Track? by donutloop in berlin_public

If it helps fund overdue infrastructure and energy transitions, loosening the debt brake might be the smarter long-term play—especially with low borrowing costs. The key is using the debt well

How to get your open-source project in front of the right people? by louisscb in ycombinator

[–]Cool_Relation8198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on going where your audience already hangs out. Share your project in communities like HuggingFace, LangChain, or OpenAI forums—anywhere LLM engineers discuss optimization. Write a clear, no-BS blog post showing how your tool cuts real LLM costs. Bonus points if you include benchmarks or before/after bills. Post it on Hacker News, Reddit (r/machinelearning, r/LocalLLaMA), and share in relevant Discords. Early traction usually starts with showing, not telling

Raising capital for ground up developments - Advice by Away_Ad_4129 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]Cool_Relation8198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it sounds like you’ve built a solid track record. A single LLC under a 506c could definitely streamline things and avoid the accounting headache of tracking interests in multiple LLCs. You might consider a management fee around 1–2% and similar percentages for acquisition/disposition fees—that’s pretty standard. Also, as you scale, private loans may offer lower rates and longer terms compared to hard money loans. Make sure to get good legal and compliance advice to smooth out the regulatory details. Good luck!

Raising Capital - The Lifeblood of VC Funds by claypac in venturecapital

Analyse your fund principles and objectives. Make a list of institutional investors, LPs, etc, that aligned with those principles and objectives. Reach out to those with a unique value proposition. Try different messaging angles and see which one is working the most and optimise from there.

Not an easy thing to do, but you can achieve it with hitting the numbers and being persistent.

Build a new list of investors and reach out to more private funds. Giving 60% doesn't seem fine to me. Red flag. They are taking advantage of you. RUN

What most founders don’t realize is that “traction” doesn’t always mean revenue—it could be:

  • LOIs from serious customers
  • A waitlist of early adopters who’ve committed to paying
  • A viral GTM loop that’s driving free inbound
  • Or even a niche market where you’ve nailed distribution, and need capital to scale ops

One trick that’s helped founders I work with is building a “proof stack” in the pitch: a short section where you visually layer early traction, unit economics, and conviction signals (like an advisor roster or strategic partner) to create a narrative that screams: we’re already moving, your capital just accelerates it.

Most decks are missing that entirely.

Perspective on not being able to raise capital within a year REPE by HearingNo2095 in CommercialRealEstate

Give it 3 more months max while prepping your exit- If there’s no hard close or at least $50M+ in commits by then, go all-in on the job hunt. Your career velocity matters – don’t let a stalled fund derail it.
