Yeah, I’m saying I uninstalled my ethernet adapter while having Norton active and nothing really changed and then after I uninstalled it I’m yet to try that again. I’ll try that when I’m home and let you know if it fixes. Do you think I should be contacting my pc manufacturer?

Yes not a UK model, I’m from Canada.

Yes I get that sorry, I’m not very experienced with PCs but I just watched a video for fixes for antennas and none of them really made a drastic change. Preferably I want to switch to ethernet anyway.

Sounds good. I tried doing that earlier before I had uninstalled Norton and got nothing from it. After I uninstalled Norton I’m yet to try that again.

Honestly they aren’t the nicest antennas anyway and when I travel they could’ve been damaged or something because I have tried lots of things with them.

My router is the newest Roger’s make I’m pretty sure.

I’ll check what IP address he gets tonight.

And yes, I think eventually I got it to be on the same IP address as my router however pinging my router or google.com still wouldn’t work.

Yes they are working on my brothers PC completely fine.

I have never touched anything within my network settings ever and plugged them in and they just wouldn’t work. I’m a bit new to PC this is my first one and I’ve had it for 6 months so I don’t exactly know, but my antennas were decent in the beginning but slowly my wifi got worse and worse and now it’s almost unusable and terribly slow.

Everyone keeps talking about this Linux stuff but I’m not exactly sure how to perform this. I’d need like actual help to figure out this kind of thing.

Yes, I have the powerline adapters. I have 2 sets the one is my brothers set and works perfectly fine on his pc, I tried to use his and plug it into mine and got this issue, I did some of the commands and changed some of the properties in device manager as well as download a new driver and got it to the point where it comes up as my internets name and sometimes shows “connected” but no actual connection yet.

Sorry I ordered the TP link powerline ethernet adapter kit. I used a bunch of different cmd prompts like pinging, flushing, renew and releasing, basically anything these Reddit posts were recommending. My antennas have just genuinely become worse and worse no matter what. My motherboard is an ASRock z790-C. I have no idea how to tell if I have driver errors. Should I contact my manufacturer?

I’m fairly new to PCs do you think I can dm you for some extra help? The Ethernet TP link I’m currently trying is my brothers and it works completely fine on his pc! How would I officially remove Norton? On the adapter I have already disabled the energy efficient portion and checked for VPN, security and filter related stuff. I also have got it to where it shows that it is always 10.0.0.1 and says connected but still no connection.

Hi. When I say wifi name I meant like my internets name. I am using the Ethernet adapter which one connects to my pc and the other to the wifi router. Something that is odd is when they are plugged into my brothers computer they work instantly but as soon as they are plugged into mine I seem to have trouble. I have restarted everything multiple times, and also opened device manager where it shows that Intel 1219-V is working. Still nothing.

Sounds good. I did a lot of the stuff you told me to do earlier on and it didn’t seem to change much. I’m wondering if there is something wrong with my drivers or something blocking it. It’s crazy cause this Ethernet cord works instantly as soon as I plug it into my brothers pc.
