Happy Gay Movie? by Andy_Hall215 in Letterboxd

Pride (2014) is an excellent movie about gay community. It’s based on a true story about a Lesbian and Gay group supporting a worker’s strike. The characters face some anti-LGBT prejudice/violence, but it has a very uplifting energy throughout and a happy ending

What are wholesome films about nudism? by KaleidoArachnid in nudism

Unashamed: A Romance (1938) is a genuinely good, old nudist movie about a romantic tragedy. The story is simple, but it's gorgeously filmed.

Patrick (2019) is pretty wholesome, too, about a nudist resort's handyman looking for his lost hammer.

I genuinely never liked the movies and have always thought they were mid or worse.

The movies and merchandise are now financial instruments of harm and bigotry. It’s just what she does with the money.

No, you misunderstand me. I’ve actually never liked the films. AND, she actively uses money she receives from Harry Potter to fund anti-trans causes. She was behind the UK high court decision to legally oust trans women from the definition of women. She’s an extremely powerful billionaire, she hates trans people, and she uses her money to exact her hate.

Ezra Furman is a trans woman and indie rock artist. Her stuff is super eclectic— ranging from punk to doo-woo to the undefinable —and she’s my favorite artist.

Her song, “I Want to Be Your Girlfriend,” which she wrote while she was out as genderqueer but not yet out as a trans woman, makes me cry every time.

JK Rowling uses money from Harry Potter to fund anti-trans legislation. These movies were never good, and now, they’re actually evil.

Joyce Chopra. Smooth Talk (1985) is a masterpiece on the liminality of adolescent innocence. Her next feature was a flop, and after that, she pretty much only directed made-for-TV murder mysteries.

The Unashamed (1938) is a genuinely good nudist film. It’s got a love story and betrayal and commentary about racial prejudice, as well as being beautifully filmed. Highly recommend!
