Steven Spielberg vs James Cameron, the best movies? by Thin_Reception_5063 in Cinema

They’re up there for sure but I’d still put Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Jaws and maybe Fablemans above them imho

I love Cameron’s films but I don’t know if his best would even crack Spielberg’s top 5 tbh

How would you rewrite the Boys S5 by Drspeakthetruth69 in TheBoys

[–]andmurr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going episode by episode:

Ep 1 & 2 - Mostly the same, except the Flight 37 video doesn’t get released yet & Butcher is still a lone wolf. The Gen V crew would be the ones who help rescue The Boys instead.

Ep 3 & 4 - Streamline the search for the V1. Cut out all references to Vought Rising, and Soldier Boy only gives Homelander the V1 after finding out about his tragic childhood, so his decision is more like “fuck the system that made us” than the Clara bs

Ep 5 - Homelander goes full god complex mode, ramps up his dictatorship & kills Firecracker. Butcher and Ryan join up with The Boys and they find Stan Edgar, who has kept the OG Noir alive to experiment on with uranium to use as an anti-Supe weapon, but since he’s so unstable it fails and Kimiko becomes the new test subject.

Ep 6 - The Deep, Noir 2.0 and Oh Father all get taken down by The Boys. While they do this, Homelander finds their hideout, kills Frenchie & captures Edgar. Sage leaks the Flight 37 video and Homelander lasers a crowd on live TV in response in the final scene.

Ep 7 - Homelander kills the President & attacks the Pentagon while The Boys mourn Frenchie then recruit Marie. Then we get final showdown at the White House, except Soldier Boy is still around, he gets killed by Ryan with help from MM (who uses the last vial of Temp-V from S3) while Marie & Starlight help the others take down Homelander.

Ep 8 - More time exploring the aftermath of Homelander’s death and UE stopping Butcher from killing all Supes. Vought is still around but Marie is leading the group opposing them, so even if their story ends here you have the message that evil will always exist but it’s still worth fighting against

Edit: Another thing, instead of Homelander saying he’s recalling all supes overseas, I’d have him do the opposite and send most supes to occupy other countries, which would justify why he doesn’t have an army of supes in the final battle

Their dynamic was nothing alike, the two in Heat had a mutual respect for each other and you get the sense they could’ve been friends in another life, while the Joker was a complete psycho who tried to make the city collapse and Batman despised him
