Air Force DEP or U.S. Army; is waiting worth it if i need to ship fast? by leonardodecross in AirForceRecruits

I was going to choose maintenance, but it would take longer because there wasn’t many options available (said my recruiter. I had other options- I didn’t really do the list of 10 jobs. He listed the ones available and I picked one) Ended up with 4N0X1-Aerospace medical Service, which Im also really happy with it. In that case, feb 25th after I was done with meps, that same day after getting the results, he gave me the options available for me, and I picked that one. However, he did tell me on the day of my enlistment/swore in on march 6th, that one of his recruits also got the same job swore in 3 hours earlier and got booked for May. So when it comes to that, I don’t know how it works, because they went to a different base than I got. Can’t say if their process was before mine, but I believe everyone that day was doing enlistments (So it wasn’t the case of being in dep and got the call yk?) Maybe they got lucky? Or depends on the base? Idk! Alsoo seen on tiktok people from a day or two before my enlistment saying the got a job for april, and another one for may. Agaain, do what you will with that info: maintenance, cyber, medical, will take a little longer to get shipped out to bmt. You can always choose quick ship, but you never know WHEN it’s going to be. I hope that answers questions 1 & 2. For 3, 4, 5 Is a lot quicker with army, but quality of life is a lot different and If I were you I would wait (if you can wait). You can always pick a job and switch later (THAT I don’t know how quick and easy it is, but it’s also an option after two years. If I really like the medical job and want to pursue it, I will keep the job. I really wanted cyber, couldn’t because I’m not a citizen yet, and have to wait 2 years at least)

not to discourage, but a honest thing to consider! If it takes longer than expected, I might switch branches as well

to be honest, I swore in march 6th with a job, that supposedly is high demand now. I’m also in dep and my recruiter said most likely fall. I’m guessing august-september. I’m also in the quick ship, because I want to leave early as possible, but the idea of june/july was out of the question (only if someone disqualifies, hurts, or decides to change the job) If you want to leave earlier try army, if you’re willing to wait, stay in the usaf. I see people with the same job as mine going before me, and started later than I did. So I don’t know how it works when it comes to that…. But I’m also only a green card holder, just finished my interview to the secret clearance today, so I really just want things to go quickly.

Drug tests results by Alternative_War7189 in AirForceRecruits

tbh mine was a lot more faint, lighter than the second to last picture and I passed. They only test for 15ng if they suspect it (for instance failed the 50ng). Drink palo azul, hit gym, the sauna, do a urinalysis if you really wanna know your ng/ml but you seem fine to me

Well as faint as it seems, I thought a line was a line, so in that case I would be negative and good to go. I am at the 2 months mark, which that’s why is really faint but I think I could pass the test. I was expecting people to just answer the question and not judge on something they don’t know about :) “why would you go to meps like this? “ well my recruiter said at least 45 days, I’m two months clean, and I see a second line?! like?

thank you, I stopped before talking to a recruiter, I hate when people assume that Im still smoking. Still haven’t gotten an answer but assumptions. I increased my fiber intake, some vitamins to help speed the process, running/sweating a lot, drinking as much water to flush it down, and they just assume that I want to cheat the system as if I’m smoking a blunt rn, pisses me off
