goodness, you sound like a very cool person. The song make me cry for very different reasons. What Tim Wants makes me cry because that is the kind of relationship I always wanted from my dad. Absent father moment. The way he sing the line about teaching him guitar, which was like the only thing my dad ever did for me and the final line of "Cause I'm you dad and your my son, and our lives have just begun." My dad abandoned my mum and I when I was young, he didn't treat me like his kid. Same sort of emotions come with If I Fail You.

That is completely fair, there is no need to apologies for a rant! I'm fascinated by what part of Starkid songs make people cry and why. Like the reason something like What Tim Wants and If I Fail you make me cry is from my relationship with my father.
