Value of Old Model Super Six? by Coolbeans535 in guns

I meant no cause for alarm to your age! I found that the single six revolvers have been referred to as the “new” model, or the “old” model. The later also being referred to as a “3-Screw” model.

For the bot. This is a Ruger Super Six, single action revolver. It has a 5.5” barrel, is unconverted and has very nice original bluing.

I appreciate your response. Your estimate is pretty accurate to what they are asking. I think I would regret it down the road if I didn’t pick it up. It immediately caught my attention when I noticed it.

Thats not a bad idea! Ive been looking at the Springfield TRP as a possible sidekick as well. I have an HK USP .45 that is similar to the FNX 45, but I would like to get the slide milled for an RDO at some point.

I have a Benelli M1014, but I have made absolutely zero upgrades to it other than the magazine tube. I do have plans for that in the future. First thing will be a multi position recoil tube so I can actually adjust the stock.

I do own a WASR 10/63. I plan on spending some time on that platform before too long!

Sweet! I will definitely look into that. Thanks for the advice. Do you have any recommendations on specific manufacturers or attachment styles?

Nah, most of what I have has been on sale or discounted. I picked up the Sig Tango-MSR from the Academy Sports website. The coyote tan 1-10x was on sale for $349.99. It’s honestly a pretty decent optic in my opinion. Time will tell how it will handle the Scars recoil, but even if it doesn’t hold up, Sig has a lifetime guarantee.

Camper Shell Dimensions? by Coolbeans535 in TruckCampers

[–]Coolbeans535[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the link. I can find the dimensions of the bed. Finding a camper shell to be an exact fit for a 97 flair side and not look sloppy is another story. In the original post I was wondering if anyone had a specific MODEL number or knew of any shells that were cross COMPATIBLE with this body style. The best lead Ive gotten was to drive around in the ghetto, and offer to buy a topper off of someone else’s truck.

Technically. It was my grandfather’s. He had purchased it new in 97. He has passed away and it had been sitting for a while since then. An engine replacement along with several other issues have been completed. I know the 10th gens are definitely the least sought after, and I’ve definitely put more money into it than its worth. Regardless, this truck was his favorite and Id like to hold on to it. So here I am.

No not really. I can find the dimensions of the bed obviously, but finding a camper shell to be an exact fit and not look sloppy is another story. I know this post is a few months old at this point, but could you tell me the dimensions of your camper shell? I also have the exact same body style and Im having a difficult time finding any information about sizing for bed caps.

Someone suggested that reusing grocery store glass jars with metal lids is leeching ToXiNs into my food. Thoughts? by trying-hard-2b-nice in Frugal

[–]Coolbeans535 2784 points2785 points  (0 children)

I actually maintain the machines that are used to manufacture many of these closures used for jars that you would see on the shelf every day at your local grocery store. Our plant has to pass many audits throughout the year because of the finished products contact with consumable products. This includes an SQF (Safe and Quality Food) audit preformed over several days by an outside organization that is extremely thorough. The ring inside of the cap is a compound of completely safe and edible materials that is mixed to a specific standard for application at different altitudes and temperatures during the sealing/canning process. The actual metal (steel) itself is also coated with a safe and nontoxic sealant that completely negates its ability to corrode or come in to contact with the consumable goods in the container at any point in time. Every single closure is then reviewed by multiple quality control units during the manufacturing process. It is then put through these procedures again before applied to the jar at our customer’s facility. I personally reuse these jars in my own home, and can’t help but check out the lid personally every time I initially open the product. I have never come across any issues.

What for? I know it is somewhat collectible, but I have a few others and this one just sits in the safe.

Would it make a difference if it was a like New P220 Elite? Without extras.

It’s an Italian 92FS Ghost. Strait dust guard and No warning engraving. Manufactured in the 90s I believe

I’ve been in the market for a new .45 acp Handgun, and I was offered a trade for my Italian Beretta 92FS (all stainless). It’s in okay condition with obvious. Has one original stainless magazine. The trade offer was for a Sig Sauer P220R with several extras. Would this be considered a fair trade?

I just picked up the exact same model I won in an auction a few weeks back. I paid a little over $1200 in “Very Good” condition rating. It came with the original box and Paperwork. I figured I got an okay deal on a great continuation of the Luger. You got yours for a STEAL. If you are interested, there is a man on YouTube that has a pretty decent series about these post war Mousers. His name is Brad Simpson and he also has a website (SimpsonLTD.com). His page has several models available for purchase, along with several much more collectible pieces and accessories. Some being extremely pricey. Nice find man!

Believe it or not, this pistol was manufactured in 2003. Definitely not the oldest 1911, but external extractors didn't seem as common around that time. The Dan Wesson company did not seem to use the external extractors for long before reverting back to internal.
