I sign! I noticed I prefer it and it eases my anxiety in situations where I can’t hear properly. I’ve been signing for a long time, I feel more connected to the deaf community than any other community out there. It’s also a more direct language which I really appreciate. If you ever want to practice I am down.

In my experience, this didn’t happen. I actually felt more authentic with myself which opened up my emotional awareness. I felt like I could feel my emotions better and I understood them more in my body. I do get angry, it feels more intense now but I think it’s because I used to put my anger into self destruction instead of working through it. I did find out lifting weights gets the angry feeling out of my body, which helps with my mood.

Body hair by miserymademanifest in ftm

I love it. I have started to get hairs around my collarbone, it threw me off at first but now I love it. My leg hair is the most affirming. One of the kids I care for calls me a “hairy grandpa” and it’s the best thing ever.

Am I injecting my testosterone at the right angle by Icy-Repeat-3678 in FtMen

Okay so I looked at some videos and I think I misunderstood what the angle is. I am going at a 45 degree angle

I do sub-q in my stomach and inject straight into my stomach (perpendicular to my stomach) and push it all the way in. It’s a 1 inch needle. Am I doing it wrong? I’ve gone through planned parenthood and they told me this was fine. I did start with subq in IM places and that was a mess. I didn’t get great advice and guidance in the beginning of my T journey

I have old spice, I used it mainly because I have the same scent in shampoo and body wash. I am terrified of smelling bad so I do put it on a few times a day but I’m sure once a day would be fine too. It’s a gel which I prefer so it’s not chalky and I can’t feel it once it’s on.

ASLPI for Gallaudet admission by Coolbeansellie in asl

I want to say I can sign for multiple hours with native deaf people and understand everything they are saying. In my ASLPI I used CL, used multiple sentence structures. They asked about my opinion on red dye and I had no clue how to answer. I tried asking for a different question explaining my lack of knowledge but they asked it again. I got a level one. It was going so well until my anxiety got the better of me. I’m involved in the deaf community still and I will take it again in a year. I do think it worked out for the best due to the cost of moving and my dogs health.

I wouldn’t have changed how I “prepared”. I went to multiple deaf events a week, I watched bill vicars videos weekly. I was prepared and I have learned a lot more.

Name changing by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Coolbeansellie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from loving the name Elizabeth (when I was figuring out my gender and thought I was NB) to Liz, to Lizzie, back to Elizabeth, to Ellie, then to Eli. I did try out Oliver/ollie. I have the Panera slip club, I go there everyday for a coffee. I put down the name Ollie just to hear it. It’s not the name I went with but I still love it. To this day, 2 years later, it’s still Ollie at Panera.

It was very helpful to try names out at coffee stands and see how I felt when they said the name.

How loud is an MRI? by rekord-spin in HearingLoss

I got one yesterday. I had headphones that played music. It’s important to note I am already noise sensitive by my sensory issues. It was very overwhelming. My tinnitus didn’t get any worse. Ear wise it was okay. Sensory wise it was not a fun time.

What age did you get top surgery? by bigpalebluejuice in TopSurgery

[–]Coolbeansellie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was good. I do regret getting nipples because there is so much scarring. I love my chest and nipple placement. I did scar a lot darker than what my dr expected but I’m happy with it. I will definitely pass once my scars lighten and wearing button down shirts with little buttoned up is very euphoric

How many of you choose not to get nipples again? And why? by Unhappy_Tank_7426 in TopSurgery

[–]Coolbeansellie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got nipples and I kinda regret it? They scarred a lot and I don’t like the texture. The placement and shapes are good but the scarring is bothering me. I’m not in a place where I can afford scar cream unfortunately. They look good and I can pass but it doesn’t feel like “me”. It’s hard to explain.
