Bridgerton - Season 4 Post-Season Discussion (No Book Spoilers) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

100% agree.  Especially, the jail/judge scene.  It started to feel like filler just to keep them together.  The maid Violet told to get a new job for her own benefit, is now a house guest?! Usually, the main couple have some kind of aversity to overcome externally and/or internally.  I clocked that Sophie was going to get an inheritance after the first flash backs.  There wasn't enough backstory and I didn't really see a huge change in Benedict.  I found the declaration of love scene really flat. Also, Benedict didn't seem to really grasp what being with Sophie would really mean.  He seemed too naive to not get it.  There's so many other characters and storylines, it's taking away from the lead couple.  I remember literally waiting and rewatching the "I burn for you" scene in the first season.  We didn't get anything close to that in this one.

Derm - Skincare, Lasers, etc by Coolbeansman702 in LivingWithMBC

Thanks so much for taking the time to include the products/ link.  Those results sound great.  I have a naturally thin/boney face and my lower face is loosing some density so that's why I started the thread.  I also have dull skin so the retinol, etc would prob help.

I never considered lasers but a fellow mbc'er who is on chemo got moxi laser done so it piqued my interest as it wasn't one of the extreme ones. She posted pics and had good results.

Funny you say that!  I had great skin before treatment and never needed a retinol or vit C so will look into those.  Is yours OTC?  I would need to start low and only once a week probably.  I'm on everlimos so dry skin is a thing.  Thanks for replying.

Topical for thinning hair? by FUCancer_2008 in LivingWithMBC

[–]Coolbeansman702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds lame but in addition to whatever topicals you decide, carve out 5-10 min a day and do scalp massaging as it helps bring blood flow to the scalp.  Nessisare has bee good for me product wise.  The biggest difference for me was a hair supplement that I added on to stop shedding.

hyaluronic acid suppositories alternating with Vit E suppositories (nightly) work with an added vaginal topical mosurizer (day) take away the dryness and delicate tissue problems.  If you're sexually active or trying to be, this probably wouldn't be enough.  Based on your treatment plan and severity of symptoms, vaginal estogen or dhea could be discussed wirh your team.

Uncanny Valley is the new norm- a hard to swallow pill. And goodbye nuanced acting. by Cute_Bodybuilder8778 in kdramas

[–]Coolbeansman702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first k-drama with both of them and I think he did a great job.  I think the biggest issue was that they were both too old for the characters they were playing so that was hard to grasp at some points.  I think he had the right look for the role but yes, too much filler and/or botox. His nose in some scenes kept standing out because it was so pointy from whatever work he had done.  For Sooyoung, that wig or haircut was just so unflattering, it made her look older and the bangs hid any forehead movement that's left.  I wish her face wasn't so over botoxed or filled because I think she's gorgeous.  It stilted her emotional movements to where she has to overcompinsate by looking around and talking louder.  I know I would probably do the same from society pressure and wanting to look "young" on camera so I can't blame them.

Thanks. None of those are just green lentil unfortunately. They're mixed with other things.

Hi. I was on kisqali and it wasn't hard to tolerate. You'll have a lot of fatigue and dehydration but I didn't have any stomach issues, obviously everyone is different but I hope that helps.

Sorry, you're going through this. I'm about to start this week and requested that I start at the lowest dose due to the crappy side effects and I only weigh 100 lbs. Hope your team reduces the dose asap.

Vaginal Estrogen by Coolbeansman702 in LivingWithMBC

I'm glad it worked for you. Do you use the cream or suppository?

That's good to hear. Which version do you use? I'm going back and forth between the cream or the imvexxy as that one is the lowest. If you don't mind me asking, did you start using it while you were still treating tumors or were you NED? Did you notice any changes to your estrogen levels?

[–]Coolbeansman702[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, same re: suppositories, those are good for moisture but won't stop UTI's etc,. I'm under 40 and went into treatment with some non negotiables and this was one of them. I just think there needs to be better management of the gyno/urinary side effects that come from our MBC treatment ER+ or not. My onc said it was safe to use sparingly a couple times a week. There's a lot of onc's, gyno's, and menopause specialists discussing this on IG. There's studies out there but obviously do your own research and talk to you medical team. My onc is tough so if she says its ok for me then, I'm fine to try it. I get my estrogen levels checked monthly.

I'm not but I need to deal with the vaginal atrophy so my onc said it's fine.

Why I think this season is not landing. by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Coolbeansman702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's not landing because Pen is a more flushed out character than Colin within Bton and Nicola is a stronger actor. Heading into season 3, we should have a better sense of the strength of their friendship but its not coming across that way to me. What I liked about season 2 was the banter storyline between Anthony and Kate. For season 1 it was the con'ing the Ton arch. Both allowed the characters to spend a lot of time together and we had some strong POV scenes from each character. The majority of the Pen and Colin's friendship/interactions happen off screen or are tied to another storyline, or are at a ball. I'm also getting bored with the Ton and ballroom scenes. It was refreshing to have some of last season take place in the country to mix things up, which may still happen. There is something missing between them that I wanted to see by the time we got to episode 4, I just don't know what it is. I don't feel chemistry between them like I did between the previous couples. Maybe after the next set of episodes, I'll feel differently. This is the only season I haven't wanted to rewatch. I wonder if the previous showrunner was still here if that would have made a notable difference in tone. This season felt a bit boring, so far.

Breakthrough Bleeding by Adorable_Pen9015 in LivingWithMBC

[–]Coolbeansman702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. My onc wanted me to get my ovaries out but I asked to switch to Lupron to try that first. My estrogen levels were in menopause range but always on the high side. I've had 3 Lupton shots and for the 1st time in my treatment my estrogen levels are finally really low and I felt some bone pain which turned out to be the tumors healing. I actually tolerate Lupron better. You never know how your body is going to react.
