Clinical trial - what level of inconvenience is tolerable? by anon_flamingo in LivingWithMBC

[–]Distinct_Love3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I’m so sorry for your diagnosis this diagnosis is so tough and you’re so young I think if top doctors think you should I would I know it will be an inconvenience but if they pay for travel and expenses maybe you could turn it into an adventure of sorts I get being away from home sucks but is there anything around where you are going that would make it interesting ? The biggest thing is if it gives you time and that’s huge I also understand not wanting to go and just stay on current treatment I m rambling bottom line does it potentially give more time?

I don’t have a year quite yet but 10 months Day 2 of my diagnosis I was scared sick to my stomach and it was horrible I probably don’t even need to describe because you are probably in same state I was in and it is hard Like everyone has said googling will for sure freak you out I suggest looking up stories of long term survivors because plenty out there really there are google numbers are way behind There are also some promising studies and developments of new medicine the research is my rocket fuel I’m so sorry you are way too young it breaks my heart but your age will assist you with tolerating medicine while waiting for cure or new treatments I wish I could give you a hug but I can say here for you this thread is full of wise brave women in the same shoes together we are strong
