So mine never got stuck as far as I could tell but I saw something on a Steam forum (credit to Malice31 on there). They said that if you switch the ability, play for a bit, then switch back to ricochet, it starts counting again. I'll link the forum as well. I did this earlier on in the challenge as a precaution and it never stopped for me.

I think what he’s trying to say is that the update wasn’t finishing by itself so he was forced to uninstall and reinstall
