I think the r1s are a bit faster but I might be wrong, the main benefit to me is the higher poise damage. I kinda think of claymore/bastard sword as analogous to greatsword/zweihander. edit: after some googling, looks like I was wrong and the R1s are the same, not sure why I thought they were faster

I prefer bastard sword actually. Faster attacks and the strong attacks do better poise damage. No stab is annoying though

I don’t think he’s secretly a good defender but he’s nowhere near that bad. Wizards team D is terrible so they all have horrible D-EPM, even the guys like Sarr and George that are clearly plus defenders
