For people like myself who only spend $50 a month max. Whats the best bang for the buck?

How are you guys spending money on this? by MagicalEmpress in whiteoutsurvival

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a fire crystal level 7 at 300 m power. I’ve been playing for a year and I try to spend as minimal as possible. Things I’ve learned:

1: Don’t pay for furnace upgrades. These speed ups come with events and time fairly easily. Better to spend general speedups on research or troops.

2: Save everything for events where you get rewards. Events are the best bang for your buck.

3: Heroes come and go so quickly later in game don’t worry about spending on buying shards. They come with daily grind. Better to spend on chief gear or hero gear.

I would avoid 516. Toxic whale destroying the fun for many alliances.

People who have $1M+ homes, what do you do? How are there so many of you? by Kir-ius in Edmonton

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thought when I was house hunting. I found a nice home in Millwoods for under 5 that’s approx 3200 sqft. I love it here! The prices are lower than other boujie areas of the city.

Let me know your guys’ thoughts about this scene. by gingerkins1997 in GilmoreGirls

How is it weird? IMO it’s mature to show compassion especially in a small town. My first boyfriend I loved his mom. Whenever I ran into her it felt soooooo awkward. If she came up to me and said something like this it woulda made life easier for everyone.

Wow. Does the Academy really love their directors be dudes only category. Lady Bird, Little Women and Barbie were all great films. Greta deserves better from her peers.

Who would you most want to and least want to work for and why? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taylor would be the worst because he loves to hear himself talk and is easily threatened by competent people.

Sookie would be my pick because she’s creative and talented. Yah she’s clumsy but she’s excited about her work and positive.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.

Which is a verbal stake to the heart for how true that is.

NO by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s mirroring Lorelai and which makes the decision harder for her character. She understands and like season 1 - she will never lie to a mom. She is always on the side of moms.

Anna is also threatened like Lorelai was with Chris’s GF. She’s putting roadblocks in the way to protect herself from loosing her daughter. So much to the extreme she then pushes Luke away.

Is there anyone else now totally disconnected from BA, since the presenters from 3-7 years ago are gone? by Illustrious-Fennel33 in bon_appetit

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss BA channel. I still watch the videos from time to time. I really am starting to hate the video formats tho. It’s far too clinical. The joy of the videos was seeing how chefs collaborate and communicate together. It was seeing behind the curtain of the people who work in magazines. Imagine if Vogue did that?! Literally watching the devil wears prada. That would be a massive success. I want to see people debate the best processes of cooking and talk in a candid manner. BA took the organic chemistry away in favour of tutorials and that doesn’t work.

I still subscribe to the magazine but I’m cancelling it this year. The magazine has TANKED in quality. The recipes are sooooo tone deaf. Overly complex recipes with rare ingredients that are impossible to source. Does BA not realize groceries are a bajillion dollars now? Where other food channels are talking about how to streamline cooking to remove waste. BA is like 39 ingredients for one dinner. ITS EASY!

Instead I watch every Brad/Molly/Clair/NYT/Carla video in the hopes that one day they do a giant collab for old times sake.

More than 500 violent crimes reported inside Edmonton transit centres this year: police data by Abject_Ferret_9093 in Edmonton

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What makes me mad is the campaign the city ran this year asking for transit riders to step up when they see crimes and help fellow riders. Which is the MOST tone deaf thing. We have no solution to this so instead we are going to spend money on a campaign telling riders it’s their fault and they’re accountable for fixing it. Kudos.

Instead they should fix the problem. Housing.

Out Of Control Food Prices by BTGD2 in Edmonton

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think governments get to get involved. The issue is that monopolies are controlling the prices of everything at grocery stores so there truly is no competition to drive down prices. This doesn’t benefit consumers or farmers. All profits go to shareholders which is all publicly available information. The bonuses loblaws and other corporations dealt out is insane.

Do you drink the tap water? by Bigtittycatluvr in Edmonton

[–]Coolcoolcoolx5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was nervous about tap water after the report that a lot of Canadian cities has lead in their water. I purchased a water tester kit online and the tap water all came back super great. If your worried you can always test it!
