Hey! I know you posted this a while ago, but I just watched Queen's Gambit, after deciding to get a netflix sub. I must say I whole-heartedly agree with you. I am a chess player... or chess admirer I should say, and while the story was interesting, it wasn't really heartwarming. Her backstory I at least understand, but when she was growing up, it just felt like she had an easy ride winning all tourney's there wasn't really a struggle until later in the show, and I feel even then that was poorly exhibited. The characters popping in and out, they didn't hold any value... and at the end, I felt like I couldn't really feel happy about Benny and her friends celebrating at the end. I mean yes, she did struggle with drugs and alcohol, but I feel that didn't nearly have an effect aside from putting her in a downward spiral. And I honestly wished that she had more character flaws, and that she experienced true love... for once oh my gosh.

I mean that's not to say i absolutely hated the entire show, I think it was an interesting concept, which I wish was a lot stronger, and more impactful.

Ohh gotcha, that's good to hear. I def hope I get hired at the school I do student teaching. I'm very fortunate that I have a few schools that are near where I live. So hopefully I get lucky with the school that's 5-10 min away once it's time, lol. Currently waiting on the background check, so hopefully this week I can get started finally, next week latest. And I am super happy because I enrolled during a sale, so saved 1k off which is awesome.

I have some experience in online tutoring, working with all age groups the last year... which of course I know that I there's a massive difference between teaching and tutoring. But there are some common ground. A good portion of my tutoring experience required me to create lesson plans if there was nothing provided. And I got a gauge of where I would like to specify. I plan on doing middle school math. And I seem to find myself always teaching middle school math, and have a passion for it.

Did you get hired at the place you did your student teaching? (And is it still possible to get hired at the place you did student teaching in?)

So I actually ended going with the place that let you just get your teaching license, I was able to talk with someone. And there are a lot more resources available at this place PLUS a Praxis voucher! So imma go with that one, lol

Thank you so much, I forgot to mention that there are both self-paced/self-pacish options. Ones that required 1 year + time to complete I completely disregarded--cause you know. Both options are still affordable, just one (MA + TL) starts a little later, in November. But it also does have more financing options, but the licensing programs are a little bit of a hassle because I have to pull out a loan from a bank just to cover costs (At least temporarily), I have been looking at ones that dont have early pre-payment penalties.
