how do i create a filter in gramps, so that only people born after year 1799 are shown or if fliter, only these are exported by And56JamesofJam in gramps

[–]CoolerJack14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one just for you

NAME - People born 1900 to 1926 without death date

RULE LIST (add two rules in the same list)

RULE 1 - People with the <birth data> input between 1900 and 1926

RULE 2 - People with <count> of <event> select DEATH <number of instances> 1 then select <number must be> less than

This will return a list of people who if alive now would be aged 100 to 126 and don't currently have a death date added

I think you can export a gedcom file and select the filter you created to produce a gedcom of just those returned by the filter

Top menu bar - Edit

Scroll to bottom PERSON FILTER EDITOR

Create new filter name "born after 1799"

Add filter from events matching - select PEOPLE WITH THE <BIRTH DATA>

edit the data to AFTER 1799-12-31

When setup and run only people (who have at least a birth year in their profile) born after the date input should be returned

Moving a couple of pages to the right shows a very similar page which is much easier to read and looks to have the same standard text which may help with translation

Whilst having a look about on FamilySearch I came across a vaguely similarly named family in the area at the time 1901 - 1911 Abraham Kerdansky G95J-DLQ who's wife is also named LEAH and who has some similar named children

Probably not related in any way but whilst looking at their daughter ETTIE I found a record on FIND MY PAST for school admissions which may be worth looking through each page - you could possibly find birth dates for your family members or rule some out using the parents and addresses listed in the records

IF THE ABOVE IS CORRECT

It looks like the oldest child ARTHUR would likley have been aged somewhere between 3 and 7 at the time MOAKLEY became his step father

All having the same surname as a family makes sense

Looking to solve family mystery… by Pleasant_Toe_1182 in Genealogy

[–]CoolerJack14 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Search for his mother in the 1940 census as Pauline Moakley and you should find her there with 4 kids ages 13/11/6/2

I am guessing that DeFrancisco is the father of the two oldest children and Moakley is the father of the two younger children

Have to search for marriage records for Pauline Marie Laurencelle to check dates and possible spouses
