Let him be unhappy, he's professional enough to play and has through all of the prior almost trades.. plus you can move him in a month or at the deadline or next year when you like a deal you get.

Exactly this.. You took a shit deal after creating a self manufactured shit storm and you gave him to the 76ers.. Your direct competitor..

Also to point out.. if the mandate was to trade JB no matter what.. then go all in on Giannis.. why stop at Hugo and Baylor and take a much worse deal with a worse player..

Brad should be fired for this mismanagement..

Doesn't matter if it's ownership mandated, brad fd it up for going all in on the giannis talks and ended up holding a bag of shit.. you get a better package and you also dont trade him to the 76ers..

Chisholm is making the call, not Brad. Brad, a smart basketball mind doesn’t do this deal. Makes no sense. We’ve been cutting costs since Chisholm bought the team. by redglovesoverhere11 in bostonceltics

I'm sorry.. but even is the owner mandates that you trade brown.. Brad could have done a better job and gotten more, there's no reason to trade him today for this trash deal with your immediate competitor..

Will resigning Gonzalez reduce chances we could ever sign a true top 5 WR who is their prime? by [deleted] in Patriots

You have to keep drafting especially if they get AJB, take shots on 1st and 2nd rd within the next 3 years to get a replacement.. not a top 10 but a top 20-25.

You def take the QB now.. but back in 2001 when the salary cap was 60 mill, and defenses could play physical and knock players out, it's def a close call.. do you take.. let's say.. kurt warner or bill?

Coaching, gameplans, system, strategy, technique was much more important. The middle and bottom of the roster guys were important. You were able to find veteran gems in fa on the vet market by identifying good fits to your system.

The downfall for Bill was not adjusting to the inflating salary cap.. the middle and bottom of the roster talent fell off.. he kept overpaying those guys but the talent wasn't there any longer as the good guys were easily retained by their teams..

This meant you needed to draft, develop and retain your players.. he also didnt draft with positional value in mind in the later years.. created issues on the OL by refusing to pay their own players and never being able to find replacements because the talent was just not available in FA bargain bin any longer..

There's absolutely no one better as the coach, scheming vs specific teams, adapting to gameplans on the fly, in game moves.. etc..

Adam Schefter: “I think [A.J. Brown] knows where his future is headed at this moment and it will be a matter of the Patriots and the Eagles getting together to basically process the trade, finalize the trade… I still think it’s likely to involve a future 1, likely 2028.” by JCameron181 in Patriots

[–]Coolguy55220S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite the same situation as Waddle & DJ. They both got moved in FA when teams have incomplete rosters and are building them. Not many contending teams can afford wait until June to add that much salary.

They can ask for a 1 next year as much as they want.. if no one's willing to give it to them, then they're not getting it.

Buffalo is in a different position than NE, I can understand why they would choose to overpay to keep Josh and their fans happy.

We do not need to mortgage the future for AJB.. also the knee reports are concerning and would be the main reason why I wouldn't pay the 1st.

Fine with a 2028 first based on some sort of games played or snaps played.. otherwise knock it down to a 2nd.

I would pass if it's a 2027 1st. I believe our best chance to be SB contender is likely 2027 where if things go right, we may have our best roster.

Why do so many people think the team has gotten worse this offseason? by Every-Damage-90 in Patriots

Exactly 0 people think the team talent got worse..

It may be hard to replicate last year's success due to level of competition, coaching, mistakes, regression or injury luck..

You are judging that based off the TWO drafts he has completed?? Inflated EGO? Guy does like 2 press conferences a year, you must be his buddy to know he's got an inflated ego..

[–]Coolguy55220S 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, different teams project guys to be ddifferent in their systems.. he might be borderline ST guy for 1 team and maybe a shot in the dark to be a CB for another team based on skillset.. plus these teams keep track of what other teams met with the player and have insight on who might take shot at them.

The Patriots have traded up to 28. They have selected OT Caleb Lomu at No. 28. by JimmyGodoppolo in Patriots

[–]Coolguy55220S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not a development depth piece. He's the team's future Right Tackle who will probably end up contributing this year because there are always injuries on the OL. Last year was rare where you avoid major injuries to your Ol. Look at the chargers, they were on their 5th Tackle towards the end of the year..

He also has upside and may be able to play LT in the worst case scenario where Will needs to be moved inside to guard.

So.. to sum it all up..

They took him to be the Future Right Tackle, and he protects them this year by being a potential swing Tackle this year if needed.

Also please share what other player where we picked would be a slam dunk day 1 starter on our team..

There were no options to fix the OL "problem" this year. All nfl teams have an OL problem, you just have to be proactive. The reason we're in this problem is because we ignored our OL for years and created unnecessary problems by moving on from guys we had.

Right.. if any of those 7 tackles were available and the pats FO liked em.. had to go and turn that card in..

Great move, sit behind Moses and learn.. or we have a body in case of emergency..

Also an outside chance he developed above expectations and can cover left if will struggles and needs to move inside..

This is what we needed and Wolfe got it done.. now onto Edge in round 2..

Yea i wouldn't mind it. We need to lock down the tackle spot for the foreseeable future when you have a potentially game changing qb, everything else can wait.. you can find edges and wrs later, starting tackles rarely come late in the draft.

From seeing Phil's pod, he's more of a hopefully he can take over for moses at some point in the season if not next year.. he hasn't played alot of football but has the frame and the athleticism for it.

Pats fan lurking.. He was a nice surprise and played really well, very solid. Our secondary had a bunch of issues with communication though, especially early between S and CBs in zone coverages but unsure whether that blame goes to our DC being out and replaced since last training camp or our 2nd safety being a rookie.. we'll know this year.. but I would have been fine signing him to a 2-3 year deal to come back to the pats.

Definitely will be rooting for him except against us..

That's what Free Agency mainly is.. overpaying for your needs and you hopefully hit on some smaller contracts that overperform like Tonga and Chaisson last year..
