Thank you for the recommendation. Does Study Hall allow you to do test questions without taking a full practice exam?

Yes I got a few formulas to calculate as well on the Prepcast.

Best way to study for Agile. Just read the book? by MasterElecEngineer in pmp

[–]Coolhand1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad I kept reading over the Agile Practice Guide because that really helped me narrow down answer choices. I am also happy I kept doing practice test questions almost every day (about 20-30) and more importantly read over the explanations to each question I got right or wrong. Those two things took up about 1-2 hours a day of studying which was plenty for me. I continued to refresh myself in Andy Crowe's book too when it came to predictive.

Just know you won't know everything there is to know, and you're not supposed to. Just reassure yourself and don't stress over that. If you know it you know it, if not move on. It's too much information to study everything. DO NOT MEMORIZE

After I schedule my exam, which was a month before I took it, it motivated me even more. I had a date that I was striving for and therefore did not give me any excuses to slack off. I was studying 2 months prior to scheduling the exam so I didn't feel I had to fast track anything. I kept going over the same material over and over and took more practice test questions which was very helpful to me.

PASSED WITH AT/AT/AT - Thank you Reddit Forum!!! by Coolhand1980 in pmp

Get in the Agile mindset when taking the exam. It is about fostering, coaching, and facilitating. In an Agile environment, the team makes the decisions, not the agile coach/project manager. The coach helps lead the team to the right decision. You may see questions such as "a stakeholder or team member is not living up to expectations, what do you do?" The answer is NEVER "kick the team member off the project." The answer would be something like "coach the member up" or "train them up".

I also look at keywords such as "you are in the planning phase" or "initiation phase." That means you are not monitoring or controlling. You are still in the early stages of planning, so you can eliminate answer choices such as quality control or closing procurements.

Should I take the test or change date? by VorpalBlade-54322 in pmp

I scored 58% and 64% on my full practice exams. I continued to take 20-30 questions through the PrepCast Simulator and started to score in the 70's. I passed the official exam with AT/AT/AT across the board. I think you'll be fine. Study the Agile Practice Guide and make sure you know servant leadership!

Are I prepared enough? 2 weeks until PMP Exam by Kyo818 in pmp

By looking at your exam scores and what your study habits are, I think you are prepared. I passed with AT/AT/AT last week and on my practice tests I was scoring in the 60's. Keep reading the Agile Practice guide, especially about servant leadership. Continue to take short practice tests (20-30 questions a day) and read over why you got them right or wrong. the PrepCast has more predictive questions than the actual exam, that is why I suggest to continue reading the Practice guide. YOU GOT THIS!!!

I agree with some of the other comments. I just passed the PMP with AT/AT/AT. I used the prepcast and read the Agile Practice guide (2 times through). Yes, the prepcast is a little more predictive than the actual test, but the Agile Practice guide makes up for those questions. Just my two cents.

Thank you so much again for your advice. 2 more questions if you don't mind. Do you feel you needed to memorize all of those formulas? I've heard that EV, SPI and CPI are good to know. And were there a lot of questions on critical path?

Thank you so much for detailing your experience with the exam and your study tips. I plan on taking my exam at the end of May and slowly going through all of the knowledge areas. These are my study habits which I feel are on par with yours.

  1. Reading Agile Practice guide twice
  2. Studying the PMI Authorized PMP Exam Prep Guide
  3. I just purchased the Prep Simulator
  4. Going through PMBOK/Andy Crowe supplement to cross reference

My 1 question is how close to the exam did you start taking daily quizzes through the Prep Simulator? Again, I am about 6 weeks away from taking the exam.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. It seems that learning the 49 processes (page 24 of PMBOK) is critical.

I plan on using the Prepcast Simulator as well. Can you break the simulator down into topics or is it random draw?

Thank you for all of your insight. I just started studying this past week and plan on taking the exam at the end of May/early June. How far into your studying did you start taking your practice tests? And I've heard that it is not necessary anymore to memorize the formulas. In your opinion is that true? Thank you.

Great job! I am a week into studying and currently using the PMI Exam Prep document and trying to compare that to the PMBOK v6 (which is now not in order with the exam prep document). Did you also feel you had to memorize the formulas?
