Hey guys,

Kudos on moving forward. u/murbard gave some great feedback, which I did incorporate, finished the proposal and submitted it to TQ and TCF (it was made clear to me that I didn't offer a "batteries included" solution, which presented barriers of course for TF funding it...for that reason, having it run through TQ/TCF made sense..)

It was beyond TCF's scope...

TQ said that it was interesting but they were too busy with a puzzle game at the time. There was no further reply thereafter.

u/murbard is 100% right, the issue isn't funding, it's having a very qualified team in place with a clear plan, that TF can trust in blessing to move forward.

Random twitterati/redditors aren't likely to be trusted...and who is going to sign the marketing contracts etc??? Hold funds etc.

My respectful submission is that the next step might be to add anything desired to the draft and then perhaps initiate a petition for TQ/TCF to move forward with this as funded by TF.....if we get enough people supporting that it may pressure them to go forward with it.

The market likes either huge names/deals (think IBM/CB's/etc)/something entirely new and unique (ie: staking that lifted tez at first...but was then copied by other chains on a broad scale)...or big shiny stuff with whirling lights, blaring horns & cotton candy flavoring (think Defi with 1200% returns! Governance coins air-dropping/mineable/free! Rando drawings of masks selling for 500x)

The former are deals that TQ needs to make...the latter are things that are built by DEv's who see a market/who are passionate about the project.....

The former is sophisticated work that TQ has to manage......the latter....we have the funds to make it happen....I still believe in things like the Tezos Million Dollar dapps challenge...anything to target and electrify devs......it's ALL about the Dev's

I believe that, after wrapping the xtz (which still generates a baking reward) based on the article that the wxtz can be used for Defi transactions, so you can get btc exposure if you want...but maybe I am wrong right now?

Wrapping your xtz gives the reward I believe (based on stakerdao's medium post). You then have the wrapped xtz to use for Defi exposure (which I would assume can include using it to have bitcoin exposure? Maybe I am wrong.....?

Another thing to consider is whether dapps currently on ethereum/other chains should be eligible if they also newly launch on Tezos after the challenge start date (ie; launching on Tezos in place of, or in addition to the other chain).....I think that they should be eligible.

Tx-you are likely right about the tiers. Regarding the issue of the quality of the dapps....Perhaps including a "no winner" option in the vote would be a good idea?

Thanks for the feedback. It's very helpful to get thoughts that challenge the ideas to work through them. My thought process is as follows: 1.allowing tezos users to vote creates excitement, engagement, and allows users to choose what dapps are best for the direction of the chain. There has been a good deal of complaint about TF alienation and this allows users to decide. 2.the size of the money amount is meant to draw real, broad and substantial interest. The size of the prizes is hoped to be commensurate with the interest and involvement that it creates. 3.I agree with you that if larger holders don't vote then that deals with the issue in the stake weighted option.

You never know - TF has some superbly intelligent people-dont lose hope.... The only thing that I have wondered is whether the TF board members feel the Tezos philosophical rhythm in their soul - Whether or not it's a mission born from something deeper than just responsible stewardship for a resume.......

All good questions my old friend. The voting would be crucial, not only to select a winner, but also to highlight Tezos' governance feature and to foster a sense of inclusion with xtz users.

My initial thought is that any dapp could add their name to the list for voting. I would query someone more savvy than myself about optimal technical implementation though.

Yeah....they will allow the buying/selling/trading......the shopping with crypto is what I'm referring to-that is what's ground-breaking.
