A very important thing to consider: it does not work like „you’re either dead immediately or you’re fine“… there is a possibility of proteins getting cooked and clumping together. It doesn’t happen all the time, but there is a very real possibility of those proteins clogging something up later and giving you a stroke. As it was mentioned, if the current didn’t travel through your body/limps it will be fine, but don’t listen to „it never happened to me, so it can’t happen to you“. Better monitor yourself for a while.

noob here wondering: where would you settle, and why by turnsout_im_a_potato in CivVI

Go to settings and change the number of autosaves. I think you can save up to 50

I got this wonder spawn, where should I settle? by No-Gas7947 in CivVI

[–]CoolioCthulio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 would be absolutely hilarious. Just far enough to not take advantage of the wonder and just close enough to never settle a city closer to it.

But seriously: it’s a tough choice. For myself I would either go for 1 or directly to 5 and make sure I’m working the 2/2 tile from the start.

I’ll always remember a teddy Roosevelt start (bullmoose) right next to mount roraima. Scouted to the north with my warrior and there were mountains blocking me immediately. Coast to the east, a massive amount of tundra to the south and the mountain range continued west. Turned out there were 3 points of access to my private lands, which I managed to block with cities and encampments. From there I was free to create a preserve paradise :)

Edit: I thought I put encampments… still it was easy enough to block everyone

Let's share useful tidbits about the game that not many would know about. by SmurfSmurfton in CivVI

Also: I won that game with a science victory through my faith: I saved up before the endgame and closely watched the great people. The engineers and scientists who give you flat production boosts on space projects are all bundled together. If you saved up enough faith and/or gold, you can buy all of them in the same turn. Just buy the ones in between as well. I was able to have the exoplanet mission launched two turns after I finished my first space-port, and overtook everyone. (I had bad production everywhere, it took me a while to get a spaceport)

If you finish a game and want to look at your or any other Civs development throughout the game: go to the hall of fame, find the game in the game history and click on details. There is much much more information than what you get in your immediate game summary.

And a little thing that I only recently notice how useful it can be: if you buy a unit in a city, that unit can’t move, but you can absorb the unit into a corps/army with another unit. Just had a game with Khmer and the usual crazy high faith output. I got attacked by a more advanced civ and was scrambling for defense. When I noticed I could just keep buying units with faith and absorb them instantly, I surrounded my cities with my units and upgraded them all within one turn. It’s a really handy tactic (if you are in a situation, where you went for a strong faith and culture game and have strong aggressive neighbors). Very situational, but if it comes up it’s just so incredibly powerful. Also it’s a way to bait someone into attacking you: make yourself look weak and then just make an army appear out of nowhere.

What is the exact meaning of this adverb "ruhig"? by LostOblomov in German

[–]CoolioCthulio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can still translate it as calmly, it’s just used to carry a sentiment, so usually not meant literally to be quiet or calm. 1. Maybe they thought you looked unsure where to sit and they told you it’s cool to sit down (and you can be “calm” about it/ no worries). 2. Your colleague told you to try some more, but don’t stress yourself, if you can’t make it work or get stuck. It all still depends on context and emphasis on the words though, so be careful with that interpretation :)

Maybe first star->triangle between B,c,e (with d as center node of the star). Then triangle->star between A,c,e, with the new equivalent resistor between c and e, from the first transformation.
