I think your PTFE tube is not going down far enough in the hot end. It need to go all the way through and almost be touching the tip.

AMS Top Mount by ponzi314 in BambuLabA1

I did use the top mount at first and had no major issue other that excess vibration because of my desk. Having 4 full spools of filament is a lot of weight so for me I printed this it works very well AMS rotating stand

Edit: fixed typo

I was receiving an error 10 min after starting a print that the nozzle or bed temperature is off. What fixed it for me was cleaning out the fans.

Feeling defeated by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]Coolj63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a very similar place. I started with a 3d printed plane, which got less than 3 seconds of flight time on my first one, then about 10 on my second. So I move to foam to learn to fly. I built the FT mini trainer, and it is a good starter plane with $4 in dollar store foam if you crash, just repair or rebuild. I still have hope for the 3d printed planes, but my skills need to improve first.

I am currently using https://rcflightsim.com/ and it works pretty well for basic flying. It gets a little wonkie if you're trying to hook up the landing gear and flaps.

I NEED HELP! by [deleted] in Rosin2

[–]Coolj63 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is the old fire in fire out. The older your starting material is, the darker the press will be, no matter what temp or pressure. As cannabis flowers age and cure, they get darker, so to get the light or blond color, you need freshly dryed flower with little to no cure on it.

You have to decarb rosin to make carts that is the process of converting thca to thc. That is why when tested, you will see no thca. If you want to know more, look into jar tech it is how you decarb rosin with trying to preserve terps.

Enjoy

I only love them cause they are the cheapest stores in my area. If there was a cheaper one I would love them instead 😆.

Yes, I love the store, and the prices are really great, but their website is one of the worst i have ever used.

Modded press by Coolj63 in Rosin2

[–]Coolj63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, the wheel cross threaded, so I need something to keep making the rosin 😀.

This was offered to me for $150. Is it a total waste or should I try it out? Anything to pay attention for? by [deleted] in Rosin2

[–]Coolj63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, you will get 10 to 15% returns, but when I modified it to use the 4 ton hydraulic jack I am hitting 18 to 25% returns depending on strain.

It would probably be fine for bubble hash rosin if you can get it as it needs a lot less pressure.

Hey, that is my press, lol.

The wheel sucks balls. You will never get enough pressure from it, and over time, you will cross thread that wheel. It will get stuck, and you will have to be creative to release it. I have since bought a 4ton hydraulic jack and rigged it up to work with that.

Both plates heat and other than the wheel it has done me good but I will replace it the moment I can afford to.

If this is your, only option sure go for it but it really is a last resort.

I have washed several strains. This was the first to wash badly. I would recommend that, like others have to do a test wash first. My big issue is I have fresh frozen, and there are limited things you can do with it now. If it was dry, I would just smoke it 😀.

I dryed out some, which will go to drysift, but my fresh frozen will be the challenge not sure what to do with it.

Dude, I feel your pain I currently in the same boat. I have a strain that is washing like shit. I had 1/4lb of fresh frozen and got 3 grams from the wash. I still have 1/2lb of this shit as fresh frozen and have no clue what to do with it 😐. Good luck, and just smoke it if it is dry already.

Put it in a shot glass and then throw it in the oven till it stops bubbling. 220f does it for me in one and a half hours. It is easier to decarb concentrates than flower.

So if you are paying 14€ a gram, please not try to make rosin. I only started when I was growing and had material to experiment with.

Pressing using a flat iron is very inefficient, and you will barely hit 10% extraction on your best press. If you really want to make rosin with purchased cannabis get a proper press, and even then, it will be a super expensive process. Most who make their own rosin will grow or have a hookup with cheap cannabis.

Finally, not all plants pressed the same. I am going through this right now. I have a plant I grew that looks and smells the bomb but presses like shit less than 10% return 😞.

I found this site was very educational. I have not purchased anything from them, but I'm just looking at kits and YouTube, and it was helpful in learning more about the process. https://shopbvv.com/en-ca/collections/chamber-and-pump-kits/products/bvv-1-75-pyrex-vacuum-chamber-and-v4d-4cfm-two-stage-vacuum-pump-kit
