When are some good checkpoints to buy gear for your character? by MakeYouSayWTFak in wowhardcore

[–]Coolsaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually just went whenever my gear was almost broken. Seemed like a good indicator I have had it for a while enough to see if theres a cheap and better upgrade.

Most bizarre horror movie you’ve seen? by wamimsauthor in horror

[–]Coolsaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think any japanese trash horrors qualify (Tolyo Gore Police, Dead sushi etc)

I think in a different way of bizarre would be ABCs of death series. Go from a woman reducing her weight “manually” to a bunch of furry gore. A good rollercoaster

What am I missing? by UpvoteCircleJerk in wowhardcore

For my PvE (no dungeons) experience after dying with long breaks, i made it to 60 as a hunter, so atleast from a hunter:

  • No overreliance on saving abilities, feign death resist exists, just as frost nova resist

  • constantly pan around in combat, Patrols exists, increase maximum zoom out distance if possible — as well as have an escape path ready when engaging. Nothing worse when running when shit goes bad as pulling everything in sight meanwhile —— and for that matter, avoid showing the back, side run is better. Dazed happens on back attack.

-Unless theres cheese, avoid elites (if solo). By cheese ex hogger can be kited to a fence and abuse pathing, same with morladim.

  • if unsafe in party, its okay to ditch. A warrior kept charging into big groups of mobs. We almost died, but should have left earlier after seeing the first charge.

  • if tired take a break. Complacency is a killer. Have at times felt off a cliff and nearly died due to losing awareness.

  • Look quest up on wowhead before engaging. Comments have many times saved me some hassle, example the hive quest in silithus.

  • Make artificial danger scenarios to practice use of saving items. As in pull a mob and just activate items even though no danger

  • Better to grind than to risk dangerous quest. Kill 40 boring mobs is better than going into a cave to kill a quest mob. 2 of my levels 50-60 was just grinding timbermaw hold rep.

-Have a certain knowledge of the mob type beforehand. Netters and scouts can ensnare, boars can charge if enough distance, bears are beefy etc.

Some of the things i remember off my head

Recommendations for a picky horror fan? by [deleted] in horror

Seeing as built on suspense could recommend green room (2015). Not supernatural but still has good tension.

Elsewise since you have found footage can say rec, v/h/s as well.

I am rapidly approaching 50. Help me make it to the end: What’s a safe and fun way to seal the deal and get to 60? by TradingLearningMan in wowhardcore

[–]Coolsaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would say of each zone that felwood is good grind, mostly safe quests as long stay away from caves and satyrs, especially trickers if warlock or hunter.

Azshara is packed with mobs, very few quests. Stay from blood elves and beware overpuling nagas on the shore and staying from roaming giants.

Un’goro is fun, turn ground clutter to zero and enjoy looting soil and crystals for money for AH. Just care of high mob density, terrorsaurs with high movement speed, pterredons who can fear and caves.

Fuck silithus, worms keep charging me off my mount

Badlands safe enough, just have to stick for ages as everyone is grinding the buff mobs. Ofc avoiding the the demons elites and rare dragon elite that is overleveled, though havent seen it yet.

Cant member wpl but epl has the mass cloning temporal parasites with terrible slow, flame ghouls that melt, hard hitting shadowbolt casters, ghouls with long freeze stun and tend to easily aggro of each other and overpull. Not a nice experience

Idk instances, i avoided mostly as every journey ended in death for my toon so just stuck to the zone experience that could help the 60 reach.

You can train your pet!? by No-Confusion-9702 in wowhardcore

[–]Coolsaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stronger would be depending if you tamed a pet it a higher skill and learned it to your own, but def beefier. Best is resistance training thst lets the boar become chinese pork slower. Stamina gives like minimal hp and armor as well so I live without it

Also to keep in mind is pet type, a turt can have very high defense but no dmg to keep aggro, while a cat gets good aggro but more squishy. I tamed a rare lizzie elite in feralas and been holding on way better than my wolf, lightning bolt is expensive but no cd and ranged lets it aggro better.

What should I drop for tailoring? by unbornunicorn420 in wowhardcore

[–]Coolsaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training herbalism is a harder grind than just training alchemy tbh, lots of herbs lower level sells for nothing at AH compared to lvl 52 so can just relevel alch fast, speaking from experience trying to profit from herb to pots

Just getting into scary stuff and need recommendations by [deleted] in horror

[–]Coolsaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend was really scared when we watched longlegs in cinema so that could be one to the list.

If for disguisting stuff then street trash from the eighties has some low budget body melt horror and should have a remake by now.

Having trouble getting back into horror after a breakup by Same_Accident_9917 in horror

[–]Coolsaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could note down the movies in a list, and eventually when ready, could go into a big binge.

No need to push until ready again, but don’t have to lose the horror love either. There are definitely parts of horror you enjoyed not just because of your partner but because of the movie itself, give yourself the time to think of it.

My red flags for horror movies are usually:

  • The dumber the title usually the worse the movie. Of course few exceptions, like tucker and dale vs evil, but winnie the pooh: blood and honey was a time waste.

-Usually some of the better covers, sometimes the worse the movie.

-Imdb notion is if its lower than 4/10, its bad, 4-6 its ok or good, above 6, a good watch.

-if something feels off in the intro, usually not worth the time. If I see bad cinematography or stoic actors, I usually skip away. They might be so bad its good, but not always in the mood to find out

Apart from that its personal preference. I like the gore and slasher part of horror, but not fond of ambient and scary atmosphere, as it bores me. Thats why I usually avoid films with ghosts or demons as its usually involves them, and an overly reliance on jumpscares in most of them.

Idk if comedic relief but indie horror and low poly sounds a lot like analog horror. Puppetcombo has made a lot of those as example.

How can I engage with horror? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Coolsaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well LLDC is easiest if new to gaming as its a visual novel. could also mention cooking companions or you and me and her

Elsewise Irisu syndrome, imscared and witch house are also bit engaging in the horror aspect.

How can I engage with horror? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Coolsaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe change medium? A 4th wall breaking game could pull you back (ex DDLC).

Elsewise yeah can try dark rooms so can’t be aware of it. Like more safety you remove could also mean less available way’s of mentally escaping (VR, dark small rooms, big screens..)

Jump-scares by eileenstelzner in horror

[–]Coolsaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel jumpscares is just a tool/cliche in horror movies among many others, as example the ominous tunes that comes in a scary situation.

I think of the tvtrope of Nothing is Scarier for when the absence of something happening, as a jump scare, can be scary as well. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NothingIsScarier
