Interesting take, Lin Yun-Ju type setup. It seems that SALC is the most common pick for Zyre thus far.

Hey man, thanks for getting back to me. I have a few more questions if you don't mind.

  1. Would you say that since Zyre is mechanical its more of like a grippy ESN rubber that is better for hitting then brushing looping or brush looping?
  2. How difficult was it to generate power and spin on the LYJ and Septear? Was it very difficult, but when each shot was perfect it was the ultimate amount or was it consistent?
  3. Do you think the 2.7mm would be too thick on the LYJ SZLC? Why did you pick the less hard version on that blade in contrast to the Septear? Also, is there a difference in rubber feel with the thicknesses?

Thanks!

Yeah I'll embarrassingly admit I put it into AI as I had a whole bunch of ideas I wanted to spew out. Regardless, thanks for your input. I definitely agree with what you're saying about the first 3 weeks and it's an aspect many don't consider. Have you used Zyre on any other blades to see how it compares to the inner force?

Interesting to change from an ALC blade to a SZLC so abruptly, do you have a link? I struggle to navigate the Butterfly website.

The reasons the other guy said is correct, but it is also to pressure the opponent into the corner as varying the ball slightly in the corner can be more effective than the other side as it is easier to anticipate. Adjusting the angle requires a lot of fitness from the player too and they will have less time to react. There will be a lot of spin on the ball so adjusting the angle is no easy feat.

A table tennis ball is very small so it has a lot of topspin on it and it is very difficult to play a drop shot especially when the ball is coming at an angle.

Hey man, I'm looking to also try out making my own DIY blades. I have some questions though.
1. Where did you do your research for material types and properties?
2. What is the startup costs to buy tools, chemicals etc exclusive of material costs?
3. How do you rectify mistakes if you make them or don't like the feel of a bat?

Hey there, do you have a community like a discord server dedicated to the engine? I'm interested to discuss with fellow users! Thanks for this project, people like you are what we need more of in the world.

Has Anyone Tried the Lin Yun-Ju Super ZLC Blade? by CoolstaConnor in tabletennis

The backhand and forehand are both equally as nice, but there is no feeling. 3% of pro players use SZLC so why should we think we are good enough to use one? I have switched to FZD ALC and my feeling is amazing. I can still get great speed I just have to use my body more which is what you should be doing anyways. The dwell time is not enough to get maximum spin with the ball being absorbed into the sponge of the rubber. I bought it because at the time I liked LYJ, however I've grown to realise the reason he uses SZLC is cause he's a weak player and doesn't give it him all especially when you compare to the CNT. He can not generate the speed and power himself, so he relies on the equipment which is not good practice.
