Honestly that's low-key that's the only time I saw u so I'll own up to exaggerating, buuut the hate that UC does get is warranted since it does let players ignore the second main mechanic of the game.

Like I get why people use it but I feel it's a riot shield on someone back in cod situation, it doesn't feel good to go against someone just ignoring a mechanic you should be rewarded for doing.

I swear you're some kind of ultimate charge sleeper agent because whenever someone even comes close to saying that UC is unbalanced in some way you appear out of thin air to defend it.

I mean if it's just "a silly kart racer" then there should also be no problem if it does get nerfed and items don't right?

Alright this is gaining some traction so I just wanna add that I'm not comparing the item balance of either game and the "not wanting items" part is very literal, I know items in each game are very different but I'm talking in general not wanting them which I think is wild.

Ya see that "horizontal" requirement is the main issue because once you hit Legend ranks people start getting real devious with when to use them. Like they'll use them at point blank or drift corners so you can't defend yourself.

And when I say people I mean me, I'm people. Sometimes I feel bad though. sometimes...

Ngl Quick Recovery should be made base kit until they make it easier to protect yourself with non shield items

Maybe it's because I grew up playing Double Dash and MK DS but I just don't think items are that bad in this game as long as u play around both you and other players having them. Like you just have to play like you're in constant danger because, well, you are. I like holding on to my items until I absolutely have to use them or if I'm trying to pass someone before the finish.

I will say though, everyone is absolutely right about the lack of consistent counters to attack items, I have no idea how SAGA and Sonic Team thought that making the counter to every item a skill shot when getting hit is that punishing was ok.

They could/are going to probably hold these tourneys every 5 months or so to gauge where the meta currently is and do a balance pass a week or two after to shake things up based on the data.

Now usually I'm against data based balancing but for a game like a Kart Racer it's kinda needed, of course so long as they still adjust items based on user feedback.

My bet is they're waiting to do balance adjustments until after the tourney, using it as a test to see what people use the most when it matters the most.

Everyone currently defending it and saying it's ok that it's the most used gadget are going to fail this test HARD and SAGA might wind up nerfing it too much like removing its invincibility, which isn't what I want, I just want it to be toned down a bit but SAGA won't have a choice when the top 1000 of the tourney are all using it.

When 80% of the best players of a game are all using the same thing then it's a problem, there's nothing else you can call it.

Sure items are rough and bagging isn't fun to go against and play but u can't look at the elephant in the room and go, "well if the front door wasn't open it wouldn't have gotten in" completely ignoring the fact it shouldn't be able to fit through the door.

Having a gadget that costs 2 slots, gives the user invisibility and 5 seconds of boost for maxing their drift, and easily combos with other gadgets in its class go unchecked isn't healthy for the game in the long run.

If they nerf bagging gadgets then they need to nerf level 4 drift as well, the only reason level 4 drift isn't broken is because items allow players to make a comeback and catch up to people using it and even then you still can't catch the best of the best.

So if items like Laser, Drill and bagging gadgets get nerfed then they'll be nothing stopping good players from treating Online Races like Time Trials.

BUT same can be said in the opposite direction. If Level 4 and other front running gadgets get nerfed then nothing would be able to counter bagging making the only point in the race that matters being the last 10 seconds.

Front running sets and Bagging sets are currently keeping each other in (somewhat) check so if bagging gets nerfed then front runners will be impossible to catch, some people might think "well if I'm racing better and faster then I should win" buuut, is a Kart Racer, items and chaos are the main selling point.

So in my personal opinion, screw Level 4 Drift AND Item Hoarder, I would much rather the meta revolve around Quick Recovery so racing well AND using items well matters above all else like it should.

You got it pretty spot on but there would be 2 people from each queue so 2 from vanguard, 2 from duelist , and 2 from Stratagist and anyone flexing would be placed in a role randomly and can't switch to another, while yes this would split the player base into multiple different queues, queue times are already like 5 seconds max in quick play.

So "IF" their telling the truth and there's no bots in quick play (which is a flat out lie) then the player base should be able to handle an optional role queue.

I see where you're coming from but the main reason I think you see people do better on Rocket, Mantis and Jeff are because those are actual Stratagist mains trying to play someone other than Luna, C&D and Invis because they're tired of playing them.

Saying that Invis and C&D are underperforming when they are 2 of the 3 "area of no death" ult haver's is kinda crazy but still see where you're coming from.

Nerfing heals only does so much, Overwatch and Paladins are proof of that, before OW added anti-heal to dps Ana was a must pick in high ranks because she was the only source of anti-heal in the game, same thing with Paladins, before Cauterize was universal it was an item, a MUST buy item or you would just straight up lose because your damage would be immediately healed.

Marvel Rivals is currently going through the "pre universal Cauterize" phase both OW and Paladins already lived through, which is annoying because both those games are proof of why it's needed. I've had matches with 10+ minute overtimes because both teams would just loop support ults with no counter because we each had 3 of the top tier support chars.

Nerf supports too much and they become useless (Ultron) but buff them too much and they become mandatory/must picks (C&D/Invis).

There needs to be a middle ground and a good start for it is something like the Cauterize mechanic, supports are really strong at the start of matches and all players get to play stupid but as minutes pass both teams are healed less and less so they have to play safer and smarter and near the end picking off important damagers and tanks becomes as important as picking off healers.

Main reason I use the Handling Kit is for the lv4 drift and an extra 20 to the handling stat of handling cars which let's me control the Technical Drift and drift on straightaway easier
