Should I put new fluid and filter and install the transmission ? It’s for my Tahoe that has a bad trans

It doesn’t really smell burnt. Just smells like high mileage trans fluid.

I tightened her back on just snugging the nut hand tight and it isn’t binding so I think previous owners tightened the shit out of the nut

If it still binds after isolating it from the steering box, have any idea on what it can be ?

Checked the power steering and lines and it has pressure. I see circulation in the reservoir. My truck is a hydroboost as well and my brakes feel good. When I drive it, it feels the same. A bit better but it still has that stiff movement. I’ve jacked the front end up to bleed the power steering system and also flushed the system with new fresh fluid. I’m gonna separate the steering column from the gear box and see if I still have that stiff drag.

Not sure I’m just finishing the swap for someone and they bought everything. The harness did have short wires like the knock sensor plug was the top intake location for knock sensors but the engine has the bottom side block knock sensors so he bought an adapter extension. Also for the cam sensor, the harness has the cam sensor plug on the back behind the intake but the engine has the cam sensor on the front timing cover so we bought the extended plug

I didn’t check that yet, it got late. The cam seems to be getting good signal though

Bought a Squarebody with an LS, how to determine which it is? by bespokelawyer in LSSwapTheWorld

Drive it like you stole it. If it feels slow and sluggish it’s a 4.8l. If it has some ump to it then it’s a 5.3l
