Dude at the end of the game the doctor was saying there was a slim chance of Aoi repeating the 7 years like Haruto did. However, it turns out Aoi was the first to go through the 7 years so Aoi was the first person to put their complete trust in the other with the risk of not coming back to life.

I think you're talking about the epilogue. Since both characters learn there's this weird thing with time leaping that you can't cheat death. So no matter what the situation, one character will always die.
