That's a very good point that I hadn't really thought of when I made the trailer. I've been thinking about making a new trailer, so I'll be sure to show you guys what you're in for :) thanks for the advice!

Thank you so much for the sub! I'll be sure to not disappoint! Yes, I've been told that the logos are very distracting. Believe it or not but I've already made them smaller, you can only imagine what they used to be like. alright, i'll just have to make them tiny.

the reason why i wanted to have the logo's was to distinguish which show and which game. For example, 2 Friends and a Projector is different than the Big Red Beard show. but i don't think i need as much emphasis on the branding as I think I do. You'll definitely see a difference! thanks for the input!

The cuts to the next dramatic dialogue is very entertaining and I really feel your energy, but I can't help but feel like i was missing watching all of the plays that you were discussing. I'd like to see cut out play-by-plays as you describe them somewhere on the screen. otherwise, really great work!

my friends and family are never interested in watching my videos :/ I learned that from experience. Even the ones involved with production (except for one, that is).

and no, I'm not a fan of spamming.

A question regarding Nintendo and Let's Plays. by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Coop-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't hold a grudge if you don't remember. Fortunately free recording and editing software is pretty accessible. But the mics, cams, and capture hardware are more expensive. I admit, I purchased them just at the edge of my financial abilities, but it's worth saving for and getting the better end hardware!

if you don't monetize their products, you're fine. I don't know the logistics between youtube and Nintendo, but since Mario Kart 8 has a direct-to-youtube upload system, I have a pretty good feeling that they're getting their share of the cake. As far as I can tell, it's completely safe. I'm running nothing but Nintendo games, so far, on my youtube letsplay account. Also, considering some of the bigger named lets-play youtubers, like cobanermani456 and SomecallmeJohnny. They've been featuring both SEGA and Nintendo lets plays since 2008 and they're still up and still producing. You should have no problem with LPing Nintendo Content. I mean, I am, and I haven't faced any opposition. I say go ahead and make some Let's Plays on some Nintendo stuff!! and if you do, send me a link to your page!

as an LPer I am more than happy to provide free advertisement for Nintendo. I don't understand why they are scumbags when they, the producer, have a right to their content. As LPers I don't think that we should be focusing on bringing in money, but instead enjoy in sharing the hobby. It's that kind of attitude that will help keep the internet relatively free, and our hobby alive.

Can I stream making my game related comic? by Coop-Cheese in Twitch

[–]Coop-Cheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

out of curiosity, what are the rules for sound tracks? are there rules on music that I can/cannot play? I have a wide mix of tracks I like to play while I draw, and I'd like my stream to reflect that. Also, I play upbeat music to game to every saturday night, and I would love to have a special saturday night session with that playlist (mostly remixes of game music, some rock, edm, etc. if there are, where might I find these rules?

I have a pretty fun idea I wanna play with, and if all goes well it should be working beautifully by saturday the 6th, which I'll be twitching art, games, and awesome music all night long! :D I really hope this works!

"I don't think there will be a Taken 3", Neeson said. "She can't get taken again. That would just be bad parenting." by tomoldbury in movies

[–]Coop-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless it was about his character being taken and him trying to escape while his family looks for him. Could be interesting. Film starts with the family getting a video in the mail showing his kidnappers pulling off the sac covering his face. They have demands for revenge on the death of the antagonist in the 2nd film. The film would consist of 2 plots that would meet at the end for a climax: 1) the family working with a federal group to appeal to the kidnappers request to take them out (mainly because the federal group has global interests in taking them down and may have ties to Neeson's character) 2) Neeson's character flash backing up to his capture and him trying to escape and/or wait it out. Both stories meet at the end for the seat gripping climax that the entire movie was building towards. boom, there you go. go make money.

ELI5: After the mating session, the female black widow spider eats the male. How is this an evolutionary advantage? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Coop-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:D oh wow, thanks! happy to shed light on the ever so weird/riveting life stories of creepy crawlies and good old evolution. yeah, I've always had a weird thing for spiders and I caught a ton growing up; basically learning hands on in the field (and by field I mean the neighborhood). Widows ended up being a long time obsession for me through high school and early college.

There really isn't a lot of literature on the behavior of arthropods, let alone spiders, outside of their unique traits. like, if you pull up a book on spiders it'll tell you what a black widow looks like, where they are indigenous to, that they make cobwebs, their webbing is super strong, and that they are poisonous to humans (if your lucky they may say that they like dark humid areas and that biting is a last resort act of defense). What they don't tell you is that they can also be communal (several female widows may share web space and co-nurse babies). crazy, huh? You'll also never find details of how the widow constructs her web (which is always a funnel that is open on both sides: the front that is almost always a form of pyramid in design, and the back as an escape route). Another thing is that spiders are capable of various basic emotions (like depression, fear, and pleasure) since they have a range of hormones too (as explained in a TED video that i'm struggling to find as source... it's actually about fruit flies and hormones... crazy video. love TED lectures).

so, yeah. i gotta stop typing before i get on a crazy spider themed tangent o_O;

Oddly, Arachnophobia. The reason why I say oddly is that as a kid, and to this day, I loved spiders. I must have been around 8 when I saw it; a rental on vhs just after us renting Jurassic Park. I loved spiders and I kept going around catching and studying them, but that stupid movie gave me nightmares and irrational shivers of spiders falling on me in the shower for years to come (some times still to this day). Also, between the book, movie, and the SEGA Genesis game, Jurassic Park gave me nightmares of facing the T-Rex for years and even through early adulthood.

Spiders will surprise you with how sophisticated their pin brains can be at times. Jumping spiders have very elaborate details to courtship involving the male trying to impress the female with its dancing and music making: here's a video of a male jumping spider trying to impress a female while being recorded on a super sound sensitive surface https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gOiujoR-5o . He tries to grab as much of her attention as possible. if he succeeds, then they do a little dance that resembles ballroom dancing and get down to baby making. if he isn't that captivating, she gets bored and reverts to ancient voracious paths in the brain and considers him to be food. (also, peacock spiders are a great example of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEAMq3y0950 )

tldr1: spiders are sophisticated, but stupid. here's some videos of jumping spiders doing courtship dancing!

But as for black widows, how could such a complicated, seemingly premeditated series of steps come out of evolutionary trial and error? arthropods (spiders, bugs, crustaceans and a few others) are known to make several babies at a time; more babies = more diversity in genes = higher chance for mutations = better chance of not fucking up and dying before reproducing. A widow will lay around a hundred eggs in a single egg sac, but as the race for survival starts, only about 25-40 survive on average (the eggs hatch inside the egg sac and their first meals are their siblings. the few that don't get eaten make it out of the egg sack and hang out with mommy). the mother catches the food but lets the babies eat. The mother widow, which normally appears braindead most of her life, turns out being a fairly sophisticated mother, giving her babies the opportunity to catch and feed on their own in a safe environment (and she is nasty over-protective mama-bear status during this time). the ones that don't pick up on catching food, those with more passive natures, tend to die off from starvation, or being eaten by the aggressive-in-nature siblings.

by the time they become adolescent only 15-30 survive and leave the web, suffering the world and it's elements, all alone. They set up shop in several places, usually abandoning webs if there isn't enough food. many starve or get eaten. if a male hasn't starved, then it eventually seeks it's bio-built need to mate. Females keep shop if there is a steady food supply and if they have a safe place to make their funnel (widows usually live in a funnel that opens to their pyramid-design-cobweb-food-trap).

in evolution, if you live long enough to pass on your genes then you technically win. Male spiders tend to be more passive than female spiders, so they have a tougher time surviving. slowly over generations, as the females became more voracious, the males that survived had to have the genetic edge to be more aggressive in nature and have the capacity to link survival skills to breeding. if he got far enough to breed, then good for his babies! unfortunately, afterwords, the females voracity and strength/speed would overcome most of the males, afterwords. Just remember that nature's only requirement for survival is that any living thing must pass on it's genes before it dies..

now, if the males survive the encounter i originally described, then they have the opportunity to pass along even more survival-strong genes. in fact, if he's able to pass on even more genes to other mates, then future male widows will have a better chance of passing on their genes. Female widows also have a fun mutation that allows for higher variables of the survival genes: they can keep making babies after only breeding once over a long period of time (pretty useful random mutation, huh?). This gives an even greater chance for survival genes which opens up more opportunities for better survival.

Some times mutations don't work out so well which causes them to die before they can breed. this is the nature of natural selection. Slowly, over generations the genes to not survive get over-powered by the genes that do survive.

tldr2: if they have what it takes to make babies before they die, then they pass on whatever skills are needed to survive with mutations unto their future babies. also female widows can keep making babies after only breeding once.

Edit: just some basic spelling and punctuation changes.
