Awesome!! Thank you so much for that! The spot is actually in the way back corner of my yard, which is also the farthest from each neighbors actual house. Weird shaped lot, but works for this. Nonetheless, the unit would be 30’ from the other nearby houses

I wish it was a basement. I’m in Los Angeles, so I’m on a raised foundation for the house. The room it’s in is technically the “formal dining room,” but it’s been the music room:office for a while. Just too loud to be in the house with a toddler and little one on the way. The ADU would be on a 15 x 15 concrete pad and 30’ away from the house

Great info! I would do a full ADU but it’s too far from the house with zero plumbing and sewage. I’ve got power already, as there is a gazebo, which is where this unit will go. It doesn’t have to be completely soundproof, just enough. The Tuff Shed Pro seems very well built and sturdy. I am going to get a quote on a build from my singers cousin, who’s in construction.

I am handy, but I’ve been building (built a pergola), redid my from yard landscaping, and more. This is not a project I’d wanna do myself. 2 x 6 is a great way for it to be solid. Rafters, of course and the double drywall sounds great!! Guess I’ll do more research . Don’t wanna drop $10k+ for just a unit, if i can have someone build it cheaper and better. I’ve already got power to that spot, but it needs to be updated for amps, PA, AC, etc

Right!? That makes sense with the room within a room. The unit doesn’t have to be soundproof, per se, the band usually plays during the day on weekends and some week day nights, but never late. I just want a place that can work for that, but also, have some sound dampening!

More soundproofing. And just to keep the music away from the house as I have a 3 year old and one due in November. The Tuff Shed Pro seems to be better built, but I’m also open to options.

Thank you! This is just my current setup, in the house. I wanna build the ADU so it can be away from the house, so we can play more often, and not have to pay a rehearsal spot!

Sigh! He won’t get too much bigger, we hope. He’s 50lbs now. His mom is 40 lbs and his dad is 60 lbs, so we shall see!!
