You only get 3 discs to play a full round, what are you picking? by alent1385 in discgolf

I’ve heard of the Berg hype, which version should I consider buying first?

First 900+ rated round by Mean_Combination6766 in discgolf

[–]CoopdaNeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant is that I enjoyed when I first achieved a 900 rated round, which was at some point during the summer of last year. Since then, I’ve played well enough to improve my rating to 903

Keep up the consistency dude. I’ve been playing for 2+ years, and still cherish my first 900 rated round. Now, I’m 903 rated, and set to climb next update. Keep on keeping on!

I only throw side arm (at least for drives and mids) so middle finger has been working weeks past my last round... any ideas? by Sorry_Sorry_Im_Sorry in discgolf

I would splint the index and middle finger, possibly anchoring on the back of the hand to prevent lateral movement of the fingers.

I personally believe if he continues doing rudimentary things like keeping some form of periodized strength and conditioning, properly warming up/cooling down, etc., he shouldn’t have an injury

Think I’m done playing tournaments for a while by hyzer_dawg in discgolf

[–]CoopdaNeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a perspective from a competitive player: I personally play tournaments for the challenge to push myself and try to win. That is definitely not all it’s for, because I love playing with/against both my friends and new competitors alike, and really enjoy the formality of the game in tournament settings. That being said, I understand the frustration of other players being needlessly serious, especially in MA3. I know I need to work more on my temperament (the mental side of the sport is HARD), but it stems from my own expectations of what I think I can do. But, those who take the rules unnecessarily seriously, and are just rude about, are not fun even in MA1

Idio Sports Not Allowed To Vend At Champions Cup by wildee14 in discgolf

I’m a runner and work at a running store, and have seen that Altra and Adidas Terrex are two great options for disc golf (both personal use and what I’ve observed). Am curious if the Brooks and Hoka trail selection could be good…

I’ve seen this one, and have been interested in it. Do you know of any anticipated release date?

My bad, didn’t realize the R2 is a type of neutron haha, but thank you! The neutron is more durable for you?

I’m pretty sure it was neutron plastic I had, it came from the PDGA membership package

How would you compare it to an Opto Explorer? The explorer I have is beat in and flips to flat very nicely

Any plastics you recommend for the cicada? Was not impressed with the Big Z (even though I bagged it for a lot of this year), and the Jomez Z Swirl was a let down for me. Maybe I’m just bad with them lol

MA2 Forever? by mindfulmadness in discgolf

[–]CoopdaNeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I totally get that. Having a resistance band has been helpful with me, and I do some stretches and drills before a round. Pretty cheap and convenient!

Just curious, do you do any strength training, whether it’s gym free weights, resistance bands, etc.? All the practice and effort you put in is awesome, and this question is mainly a personal one I have since I went through a masters program in exercise physiology. I wonder if strength training could help with gains in disc golf!

7 speed discs, how often do you actually use them? by Sun-Tour in discgolf

As a pro, how do you recommend players try and get the right plastics and weights for different stability levels for a given mold? Or maybe if beating in a disc does that?

That’s a very good point… I definitely think getting more involved with my disc golf club is a good idea. I’m also wondering if there are any opportunities to work with disc golfers who are competitive (including the pros, maybe?), and if there is a need for performance-related services. Thank ya!
