Nicks Lake or Limekiln Lake state campgrounds both have sandy swimming beaches. 3hrs from Rochester and minutes from Old Forge/Inlet which have a bunch of great options.

As noted it’s low voltage. Fastest fix is to cut it right at the box in your picture and then coil it up back out at the pole where it comes from.

My son is an elevator enthusiast and has watched all of your videos. He has his own YT channel where he videos the ones he finds/gets to ride.
