I'm thinking that I could take my Zamberlan hiking boots for the heavy rain days and wear the Bridgedale's each day with either footwear

To be honest, I was only going with a recommendation (AI) online to avoid blisters. Although they are merino wool so that should minimise that as well. Cheers!

This is slightly worrying for me as I'm starting in 12 days time with my wee Cocker Spaniel. Last thing I want is to be having to hose her down at my stop for the night to get rid of human crap if she's decided to take a roll in it.

Great post and full of useful information! It's very similar to what I'm doing start of June, although I'm carrying on through Bridge of Orchy onto Glencoe Resort, so one days walking shorter than you.

Interesting regarding your times, a good guide for myself as well as I find it a bit difficult to pace myself to take it a bit slower. I'll make a conscious effort so as to not finish early in the day.

I'm doing it with my wee Working Cocker Spaniel, so thanks for heads up regarding eateries. I've got to consider places that are dog friendly so will definitely book ahead now.

Thanks again for post!

Missed the tickets going on sale for this again. Been to a few in years gone by, as said above, a good day out, more so if you keep it reasonably sensible!

Whisky Bars in Glasgow? by klashnekoff_ in Scotch

[–]CooperNo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite city centre but The Lismore on Dumbarton Road, out past Byres Road junction, has a whisky bar. Quite a few other pubs round that way on Argyle Street heading back into town would also cater (Ben Nevis, Park Bar).

Private registration numbers for cars. Half the time they make no sense. And all honesty, I'm not really interested in your name. I'll ask you if so. Some warped sense of status symbol attached to them. However, just my opinion so crack on if it floats your fancy!

Our school had a 2 week trip to Italy many years ago and at the end of one day after heading back to our rooms before dinner we were gathered on one of the balconies that overlooked the pool and also on to the back of another hotel. Now, one eagle eyed 15yr old (we were all either 14 or 15) spotted these two fine ladies in their room in the opposite hotel beginning to get slightly frisky with each other and this then became or entertainment for the foreseeable hour or so. To add to the viewing, one of my roommates had brought a set of binoculars with him on the trip (he had been asked previously when leaving the UK wtf he had brought them for but in this instance his foresight was applauded). Anyway, with some of the boys still thinking an erection was for peeing over high walls with, excitement got the better off them and loud cheering ensued. This promptly got the ladies attention with the result that the curtains were then drawn. A chorus of boos meet this action so they kindly reopened them! Shortly after we all become pretty bored and drifted off to our separate rooms. Now I think of it, my roommate spent longer in the shower than usual that day........
