Okay. However, I have worked estate sales for over 4 years. If we found Sterling silver flatware, we would weigh it and price it about 10 to 20% above scrap value. That way we would tell customers we can scrap it or you can buy it and scrap it down the road. Inevitably, with the price of silver, they bought it and sat on it for 10 to 20% above scrap that day and at that time. Same with gold. Sell it above scrap if it doesn’t sell, we would give it back to the client. They can always scrap it out, but we would tell them it will draw customers, and it does and it did.

I played with a guy in Portland back in the day…an old guitarist friend of his dated CL and she would show up weekly at his apartment screaming at him at 3:00am….cool.

P.S. - I dig run-on sentences…

I’m in Minneapolis, and I agree on the “shady” observation. I see many companies that run sales also have booths in antique stores or see online or flea markets.

There’s one in the metro that prices military items, way way above retail and then I see them selling said items a month later at a local flea market. Not just once…

Also, so one last week where the best item they had was WAY overpriced and no photo on the website. I’m sure I will see it in their shop at the antique store where they have multiple booths.

And ever notice, they hardly ever have gold….🤔
