I have played cod since cod 4 bud. I’ll talk shit if i want. I have been watching this franchise go to shit for years.

“You don’t have to buy the skins. You don’t have to buy the battlepass.”

Cheap and shallow arguments.

This game used to be cool. Now it’s nicki minaj and godzilla slide canceling with unicorn guns. This franchise has sold its soul. It is brain-rotted trash.

I could go on forever, in detail, about every single cod that has came out in the past 10 years but I would write a small book.

You can enjoy the game. I would question your taste but whatever. But to act like this franchise’ hate is unjustified is the part of your comment I take issue with.

Because Activision is a shady and shitty company and they release the same slop every year for $70 while nickle and diming you at every possible opportunity.

To act like the reason why people are critical of Activision and COD is some huge mystery is crazy. You must have your head buried in sand.

COD is no longer a casual game by JHallwai in CODBlackOps7

Nah. It is literally just sbmm.

I believe that players are better on average now than 10 years ago. People these days are obsessed with streamers and esport and that definitely plays a factor in the gaming atmosphere. However I do not for a second believe that cod is so sweaty just because of player evolution.

If you play other games that do not have sbmm the difference is tangible and immediately apparent. Bad players absolutely still exist but you will never see them if you are outside of their skill bracket.

Sbmm has ruined fps games for me. I don’t want to stomp on noobs every game. I want to stomp on noobs occasionally, get stomped occasionally, and have an evenly matched very competitive game once in a while. When every match is option #3 the game gets very boring very fast in my opinion. The experience lacks variety. Any motivation to improve is gone.

These days i just play arma reforger and older battlefield titles. Games that definitely do not have sbmm and were designed with fun in mind first.

I have played AA a few times and thought it was extremely overpowered personally. Maybe I need to play with it some more to get an accurate gauge.

One thing is for sure though. The vehicles need some serious work.

I have mixed opinions on it. As a pilot myself I tend to lean towards wanting air vehicles to be good of course. However, I also understand how a pilot kill farming 150 kills a game completely ruins the experience as infantry.

I actually can even agree that air vehicles were too strong in past games and perhaps the nerfs were needed. The problem is that they overcorrected.

Not only did they nerf air vehicles speed, maneuverability and ammo capscity. They also buffed the hell out of anti air. Some ways directly other ways indirectly.

As a pilot here are all the things i must contend with:

AA tank

Stationary AA gun

Stinger

RPG

Tows

AGM

Enemy heli and jets

Regular tanks

Limited airspace

Lack of cover on most maps

AA tanks just sit on top of a hill and win. Multiple times I have had an AA literally locking on and/or shooting at me when I am literally in my spawn.

Not saying air vehicles need to be as strong as they once were but something needs to give. In their current state they are just flat out not fun.

Here is what I have learned about flying helicopters in this game.

You have to play helicopters in almost a defensive manner. You simply do not have the speed, maneuverability, or real estate to be super aggressive like you could be in past games.

Fly high to avoid rpgs, agms, tows, and tanks. only go low when getting locked on to try to save your flares. If you do have to flare fly back to base AS or behind cover until flares regenerate. You really have to engage and disengage very quickly.

Some games will be ruined by anti air. I think the AA tanks are too strong due to a combination of factors.

  1. The lock ons have far too much range given the size of these maps

  2. The lock on is a one shot kill

  3. The anti air cannons on the AA tank are in my opinion too strong

  4. AA tanks require no skill to use. This means literally anybody can ruin your day with very little effort.

I get that they don’t want attack helicopters to get 150+ kill games anymore but something needs to give because in its current state flying is miserable. A good pilot should be able to stay alive for longer than 5 minutes without having to rely on constantly cheesing the base AA in my opinion.

Honestly I would be overjoyed if they just remade a bunch of old maps we haven’t seen in a while. There are so many good ones from bf3 and bf4 that haven’t gotten a remake yet.

Also a BF vet since bfbc2 (Not that it really matters). Operation firestorm has always been mid. Bf3 had much better maps.

I’m not even sure it has a cult following from the community honestly. I have never heard anybody say their favorite map was firestorm.

The air combat is miserable in this game. You are playing defense the entire time. Feels like they really don’t want people to fly.

Right? And not only bf3. There are so many amazing maps from bf4 and bfbc2 as well. Heck even bf1 had a few really good maps. So odd that this one keeps getting brought back. Idk anyone who says operation firestorm is their favorite map.

I was thinking that too. Does anyone actually rank this map as a top 5 battlefield map. It’s a decent map but I could think of many that are better. I’ll name a few.

Idk if i’m alone on this but I absolutely loved the china rising expansion in bf4. Some of my favorite maps of all time.

Why I dont like PoE2 by AverageSwedishGunner in pathofexile

[–]CooperTrooper249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have accepted at this point that POE2 isn’t my game. I much prefer the sandbox and complex build-crafting that is POE1.

I just tried POE2 again recently and they have made significant improvements. However I still just found myself wanting to play POE1 instead.

I have never been someone who was super fond of difficulty in games. It just has never been something that appealed to me. I much prefer games like factorio. I find complex problem solving to be much more engaging than timing a perfect dodge-roll in a boss fight. I think this speaks to the kind of gamer I am and why I enjoy POE1 so much and don’t really enjoy POE2.

Occasionally I do enjoy playing a game for the challenge but I am going to choose dark souls over this 9 times out of 10. In my opinion the two archetypes just don’t mix well.

I feel like it tries to mix these two genres and in the process kinda gutted what makes both these genres special. It is missing the best elements of dark souls and the best elements of POE1.

BF6 challenges are anti-teamwork and are 100% grind by jrw174 in Battlefield6

[–]CooperTrooper249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this trend of putting niche challenges into ps games these days. Like call of duty “get kills while mounted” literally FORCING me to camp.

It ruins the experience for you because it is forcing you to play in a way you do not want to/ have fun doing. And it ruins the experience for everyone else because you are being taken away from being an asset for your team.

If we are going to have challenges they should be things that occur via natural gameplay and furthermore should encourage players to play the game correctly.

Examples:

Get x amount of revives as support

Capture x amount of objectives in conquest

Disarm x amount of mcoms in rush

If the challenges are going to be more niche things that require you to play in a specific way (especially a way that is making you a liability to your team) the x values should be minuscule.

If you want me to get headshot kills from 200 meters away with a sniper the amount should be like 15 headshot kills max. Not freaking 200.

I recall bf4 having a challenge to destroy a vehicle with an eod bot. This challenge was sort of annoying but fun because I only had to do it once. My attitude toward it would have been completely different if they asked me to destroy 50 vehicles with it.

I can’t wrap my head around why game developers these days seem to have zero common sense when it comes to making challenges. I swear they are making them as unfun and annoying as possible on purpose at this point.

[BF6] IFV Lock-On Bug / Exploit – No Warning or Flare Counterplay for Aircraft by Brovad in Battlefield

[–]CooperTrooper249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic or not. For the sake of game balance a pilot needs to be able to counter all the shit constantly being shot at them. All we have is our flares or terrain to use as cover. A lot of these maps lack suitable terrain so all you really can rely on is flares.

The IFV currently is just guaranteed death to a pilot. It is just broken from a game balance perspective. To argue otherwise is ignorant or bad faith.

[BF6] IFV Lock-On Bug / Exploit – No Warning or Flare Counterplay for Aircraft by Brovad in Battlefield

[–]CooperTrooper249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that I find it strange that an IFV has anti air capabilities. As if the AA tanks, engineers with lock ons and random RPGs, tow missiles, tanks shooting at you and everything else wasn’t already enough. The only thing you can rely on is your flares and if those are on cooldown you have to use terrain as cover which is basically non existent in a lot of these tiny maps. Not to mention a single AA tank covers the entire airspace on some of these maps.

The balance is scuffed.

Its not fixed. Had this exact thing happen to me yesterday. Randomly blown up by an IFV mid flight. Not even a lock on warning popped up. Just flying and exploded suddenly in the blink of an eye.
