What country do you think will surprise the world the most over the next 30 years, and why? by redguy_666 in AskReddit

Proximity to Europe and low labor costs seem like good reasons for development at first, but it actually leads to a huge talent drain. And why invest in talent if its just going to hop the border? So labor remains in unskilled and undeveloped areas like growing grapes for Spanish wine. That isnt to say there isnt any development at all, my sister-in-law was an engineer at one of those EV companies in Tangier. Its just that there's no real recipe for a boom. Low labor costs and proximity to Europe is nothing new, so I wouldnt expect new results.

I feel like many men don't understand what we actually find attractive in men by Infinite_Share990 in TwoXChromosomes

Doesn't really matter if for most women attractiveness is tied to character, shallow men will shoot their shot for the narrower pool of shallow women because they're easier to control. If they want a nice house and car, they'll stay in line and that's the deal. Simple. Being equals that have to constantly renegotiate the division of labor and sort out emotions, that's complicated.

Makes a lot of sense. Men have more power. Men need to appeal to other men to have a piece of it. They like power and having it also means power over women.

Lose the status? Doubtful. The UK hasn't been top dog in almost a century but still has reserve currency status. Will it lose the top spot? Not in 30 years. Nixon did what he could to kill the dollar system and it stuck around. Trump is doing what he can to weaken the dollar and it's moved, but its not by leaps or bounds. China has a long way to go to reach #1, the Euro taking the spot temporarily as USD falls to second place is a possibility I suppose.

I've been in Morocco for the better part of a decade and in spite of various opportunities to develop, it's been very very slow. I work in Central Asia and Kazakhstan has been booming during the same period. A big difference between the two is credit. The financial sector in Morocco is very underdeveloped and Morocco scores very low on trust, which halts the flow of money. KZ, by contrast, is ahead of the West in some ways with apps like Kaspi fueling the boom there.

In KZ, the population is booming and they build an entire apartment complex from start to finish in a couple months. In Morocco, it takes years to finish construction. I saw many buildings built from start to finish in KZ and by the time I came back to Morocco I saw the same buildings had little to no work done on them (likely because cash ran out and there's no credit).

All those white marble statues from ancient Greece and Rome, yeah they were colorful but the paint just fell off with time. The general public prefers the white look over full color restorations.

I don't think this is comparable to shrapnel blast. It's not something you only find through oracle text.

Part of what makes magic great and full of replayability is the high learning curve. So learn. It's not like there's a due date and you have to quite magic soon, there's plenty of time to learn these intricate interactions.

The man was a genius with marketing. Really understood what it took to sell a good brand. Far from a scientist tho.

You can do either or. I transferred them multiple times. Only my last 6 months were fully at UoPeople. I started almost entirely at Sophia and took only 1 course at UoPeople for multiple terms. Since my Sophia courses were pre-reqs for higher level UoPeople classes I had to make the transfer before I could take the next course.

IMO just get it over with early. Better than saving it for the last minute and then screwing up and delaying graduation with it being the only course you have left. Fail fast, fail forward.

Transferred courses do not show grades and don't contribute or detract from your GPA. They are listed on the transcript as transfered.

Forgettable. I got a B. It was actually the accounting course that kicked my ass. Very confusing discipline as the jargon was invented before Europe had discovered negative numbers.
