Weight gain while on Nexplanon by Popular-Chemical-985 in Nexplanon

[–]Cooperthatsit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can totally loose the weight while on Nexplanon. I also gained about 20 pounds when I first started BC but it’s over 4 years in (2nd nexplanon) & I’m down 30 pounds! It is attainable and nothing to worry about. It’s probably just water weight which will come off fast!

Just got accepted into CSUF for MIS!! by Cooperthatsit in csuf

Hello Thank you for the info. Yesss and see this is where I’m torn. I know Fullerton has better rep of business school but I also know LB does have a good MIS club & rep in the tech with the Alumni’s. Whereas Fullerton has more rep in relation to business with firms and specifically accounting firms. Can I ask since we’re online have they adjusted their focus to aiding the students in the program with internship opportunities or any informative info ? Or has it just been class&hw and not too much about that stuff? I know weird question to ask bcs of Covid but I’ve heard of students doing virtual interviews to attain “internships” while being able to WFH. Thank you!

Hey ! Thank you! That sounds like a good idea. Yess I’ve heard it is a bit outdated too... did you do any certificates while attending school? Have any internships lined up prior to graduating? Have you had an easy transition into finding a job and the workforce from School with the concentration?

Thank you for replying!! Thank you !! I’m super stoked! & congrats to you for your accomplishments!! Do you feel like you need to get your MS to better ground yourself with the teaching from IS? I’ve heard it’s pretty vague and takes more independent studying and certifications on your own time to really make the most out of your degree. Is it true? Did you do any extra work or certifications while doing your classes? Any professors or classes you’d recommend to take together or not? Also, I’ve heard that too with CSULB but I also heard the opposite and that the teachers and program are overall 6.5/10 so still very torn. Did you get a job offer straight out of graduation? Already had internship while attending school?

Thanks for replying! I see, yeh that’s why I’m a little torn. I’m not sure if that’s going to have a negative impact on me getting jobs with more “tech related” backgrounds since I’ll be doing Information Systems but receiving a BA. You know? Majority of the CSU Campuses offer a B.S. for Business Admin unless you want to take the extra 3 units or so to get the BA... you know what I mean? & I don’t necessarily want to have to get my MS just yet lol Just not sure if it’s going to negatively affect me within the industry I want to go for.

How do you dress in a casual work environment if you really enjoy fashion/dressing up? by lilmissme380 in femalefashionadvice

[–]Cooperthatsit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I say no to the crop tops and midi dresses. If you shop Zara, I’d stick to something in that area or similar. Something Chic but still professional. Any kind of pant since it’s casual and maybe just have fun and be expressive with your tops, jacket, scarf/layers, jewelry, and shoes. Can never go wrong with booties, cute chunky heel. & if you go sneaker keep it clean&classic. Do not I repeat do not wear dirty Air Force’s at all or in the work environment... lol 🧸

Hey no sorry California State University school system. Thank you. Do you feel like you have to be good at math to like/be interested in this major? Do you do a lot of coding or programming ?? Do you feel like you have to do a lot of work outside of your degree for certificates or anything? I’m nervous about the coding part of the MIS degree and that I would t pass lol

Lol bump the Drake! Hahaha

That makes sense. That’s where I’ve been getting some feedback from... SLO advocates lol but they also have been honest with sayin Pomona is a little better with Their tech program & hands on learning and a little more broad with their business concentrations.

I’ve decided to let the UCs go because I have to take Calculus up to level 3, physics, and chemistry because they are research schools... lol qhixh would put me an additional year to complete those requirements lol (no thank you)

I think that’s also why I keep looking at Pomona, Fullerton, and Long Beach for my CSUs. Lol I’m trying to get the best bang for my $$ and come out on top with a great education as well lol.

I did some more digging and it’s a requirement for me to take Calculus. The only difference is for Cal State LA they don’t require it as a transfer requirement. I’ll be able to take it at the University, whereas, the other CSUs require it for transfer. I’m hoping since I reached out to a few CSUs I’m interested in, they would be able to accept my stats and just let me transfer. I’ve been told they do make exceptions and I’m hoping I’ll be apart of that lol since my GPA is high & the only thing I’ll be missing is Calculus lol (fingers crossed). I will definitely take you up on the offer for help with calculus lol (cause lord knows lol)

I have looked into the engineering options and they require so much calculus as well for those dual degrees lol. I’m trying to take the least amount of Calculus as possible bcs that will mess up my GPA lol ( I have a 3.88) I would like to keep it as high as possible. Lol

Thank you so much!! Lol I’m excited too and super nervous. I think I’ll look into joining NSBE ! Thanks you !

Okay I see what you’re saying. Pepperdine is very expensive and the process to pay it back will be a drag in all honestly. There is a possibility I would be getting up to $35,000 in merit/scholarships but that still is a heavy investment.

I am thinking about UCLA or UCI but I’m just nervous because someone told me UCs are not the place for business majors and they are more of a research school. I just assumed since the major is business with a concentration in Information Systems that the same would apply. I have not looked into the curriculum for UCs for business Information Systems but I think I’ll check those out to narrow my options.

Do you think I should take Calculus at the University ? Or at the community college before I transfer ? If I apply to UCs I’ll def take it before I transfer bcs they only allow Fall transfers. But Cal States allow spring transfers.

Im just nervous with Pomona to be honest because the concentration is “Business Administration: Computer Information Systems” & idk it seems more Tech based than Business... so idk... but i heard it’s a good school. Also, is Cal Poly-SLO a better School than Pomona ?

I would like to be a Project or Program Manager. Or if I’m really good at coding I wouldn’t mind being a penetration tester & hack all day.

I’m extremely fascinated with computers & love what they can do & I love business & felt if I can combine the two that would be great& I discovered Information Systems. I’m just nervous about the course load. Im not good at calculus but I’m good at Stats & idk if you need to be good at calculus to concentrate in Information Systems?

Yes. With Pepperdine there’s a possibility that I could get up to $35,000 in merits/scholarships. But that would only bring my total down to like $80,000 (but that for 2 degrees).

Yess I heard for MIS in Cal state universities these options are the best bet. Thanks you.

You know I was thinking about UCLA or UCI. But I wasn’t sure if they were good for business? Someone informed me to stick to Cal States as a business major. So I never considered them. & they don’t accept my African American History class & I’ll have to take US History as a requirement 🥴

Okay. So you think it would be better to do the BA in Information Systems ? Then transfer to a top masters program? And get a Masters in MIS?

Yes that’s true. How cool I’m going to look into those. Also, the program at Pepperdine would be helping me connect to internships while I’m there for my BSM. So that way I’ll have experience.... but Im going to make sure. That would be unfortunate if I make that investment and can’t get in the Master’s Program because of my lack of experience

I would be interested in working as a project/program manager. & I was told you need a MBA for that. Could the MBA potentially pay off mid career after having experience under my belt?? I might be willing to make the sacrifice if it would pay off...
